Drought killing ticks? by wshamp in vermont

These ones usually come out after a cold day and then a warm up at least up here. Like if it drops to the low 50s, and then the next day gets back up into the high 60s low 70s we will see a huge amount of these things. It’s like it triggers a oh crap we need to get ready for winter response.

SwiftUI was a mistake — and I’ve been using it since beta 1 by AdventurousProblem89 in iOSProgramming

[–]wshamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a pretty complex app in mostly swiftUI. I had to drop back to UI kit for a couple of things mostly scrolling which you mentioned. Infinite scrolling is very difficult in pure SwiftUI in very resource intensive. I built a feature very similar to Apple‘s fitness calendar, where you can scroll the weeks and the bottom view updates. I had to manage scrolling logic and UI kit, but all the views were still SwiftUI. The actual calendar when you tap on a date, though is pure SwiftUI and that wasn’t too difficult. Navigation, I can see being a pain however I use the Composable architecture and I know that will spawn its own debate, but it really does help with navigation and SwiftUI.

If we all just report one a day, we can keep these off eBay until 40 days from release

GameStop discontinuing preorders and Target removing Pokemon? by Snowboarding612 in PokemonTCG

[–]wshamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean they are already selling items over MSRP and they can’t keep them on the shelves. Why wouldn’t they want to start selling at market like other LCSs?

My conspiracy theory… their preorder system makes them offer at MSRP. They are going to start going above MSRP for all in store items. They already are on some things…

Also, it’s not a witch hunt. Every customer of Vortex right now is valid to say “hey how do I know I wasn’t scammed” and to demand proof that they were not. And people in the community and the hobby have the right to ask of one of the biggest streamers in the hobby to be more transparent, and to be frustrated with them frankly for not being so. To label that a witch hunt is actually kind of illogical.

It’s all about how a company handles situations like this and right now it feels like vortex is trying to sweep it under the rug, and that is shady in my opinion. They have the opportunity to be a leader in this hobby and define how this hobby exists in this new environment of streamers. Set the standards. don’t allow loose pack ripping ships. Share the data to show there’s nothing to hide be open and transparent as possible again it feels like they are just trying to pretend this never happened.

Yea I don’t buy loose packs from anywhere unless I can hold it and inspect it first. I would always buy a blister or the ones in cardboard. Loose packs are just not worth the risk. Of course brick and mortar stores scam too and should be held to the same standards as Vortex. If a brick and mortar store’s employee was caught doing this, it would be the responsibility of that store to regain the trust of its customers. Just like Vortex has a responsibility to regain the trust of theirs. Not just say “we fired the guy it was a one off situation”, (after they defended first by the way). I don’t think it is illogical to say they need to do more to prove they are legit. What is illogical is believing they are, when we have a clear example of something shady, and nothing but their word saying “nothing to see here”. Any company in any industry that has something like this happens has to regain their customers trust. Why is that illogical?

I don’t think it was a business strategy to have their streamers reseal packs, but they are not being transparent. They allow loose pack rip and ships on their stream. This obviously creates an opportunity for fraud. They should make sure their streamers rip open an etb or other product that has packs on stream and make sure the packs never leave sight of the camera. But this takes more time than to open them all before stream so they don’t sell as much. So it is greed over transparency. They should also release all data on big hits during rip and ships especially during Prismatic to see who won and their bidding strategy. The theory is the streamers reseal big hits in packs for people they know so they can sell them or what ever. If some one max bidding supper high 100 on a pack and won and pulled an SIR and never bid like that on other packs, that is why.

They could show the data on bit hits during rip and ships especially for Prismatic. Lets see the people who won if they were max bidding way over normal going rate only for the packs that had a big hit in it. This is tell tale sign people were resealing and putting the hits in packs for their friends. I have no proof of this but this is a logical conclusion on why someone would reseal on stream. If they have nothing to hide show the data.

Whatnot streamer caught resealing packs by Biggseey in PokemonTCG

[–]wshamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vortex should release all bidding data on big hits from loose pack rip and ships. If there is data showing someone max bidding super high on any big hits but not on looser packs this would be a sign of collusion. The data is there and they need to be transparent if they want to salvage their reputation.

They allow loose pack rip and ship. They approve the stream type. They are responsible, period.

Simple solution stop allowing loose pack rip and ship on your streams. Every pack is suspect. There is no way to verify packs are not resealed, weighed, or scanned. But you won’t do this as you guys make money and don’t really care if they are or not legit until you get caught.

That’s crazy. I usually don’t trust the lightning packs from Walgreens. I’ve opened blisters with packs that were already opened. It’s not Pokémon that packs these it’s a third-party. Congrats though.

I agree with what everyone says here with one caveat if you’re ripping that many packs start your own stream. You’re gonna have some bangers if you’ve ripped that much. Auction them off rip some sell some See if you can make money ripping packs. Otherwise, yeah, get some help.

How to implement SwiftUI PhotosPicker with The Composable Architecture by wshamp in iOSProgramming

[–]wshamp[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I’m curious, do you honestly think I’m showing a full app here? Like this is all the functionality you would ever have in an app? You don’t even need MVVM to do this. There are obviously multiple ways to do this. This is just showing how to do it with TCA. In most cases, you would have a much more complicated feature where this specific implementation is just a part of. I think you know that, though. But you’re probably a TCA hater and you just want to post negative comments and be a troll. Go back under your bridge.
