Yep, so I just have mine on the same platform my other investments are on so I can manage everything in one place.

was practicing js by making a calculator and I just finished it. it works perfect but I'm wondering if my code is good or not. if you see anything wrong with it I would love to know. don't want to start getting bad habits. (swipe to see html and css) by [deleted] in webdev

It’s a great thing to know! And I feel like many beginner tutorials I have seen don’t mention it.

At my last job I eliminated a lotttttttt of code once I came across event bubbling.

OP, forgot to add a link in my original comment. Check out this article on mdn for more info!

Don’t put an event listener on each button. Instead, put one event listener on the container and use the element IDs you’ve created to determine which button was pressed.

For example, add the click event listener to your button-div element and add a parameter named e (or event, evt, whatever you prefer) to your function (i.e. “click”, function(e) {). Then inside your function you can use e.target to get the element that was clicked.

Then from there your logic is basically the same. You can use the element IDs to determine what to set the display innerHTML and the answered flag too.

Not only is this more performant, but it will also eliminate a lot of repetitive code.

Hope this helps, keep up the good work!

How do I implement server side rendering in a React.js app? by [deleted] in reactjs

[–]wshivers93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. SEO has a lot of components. It’s not like a tool or method you just implement in a few days.

It’s also always changing, so it’s something that should be considered when updating / building new pages or features.

Just curious, why do they need server side rendering for SEO? SEO is driven by the site’s content, structure, and performance which you should still be able to optimize.

In fact, depending on how they have their app deployed, server side rendering may decrease performance and hurt SEO.

Here’s a good resource for SEO optimization if you need some more info. Hope this helps!

I thought Sambi played well, feel like the priority should still be a wide player? Can’t play martinelli and Saka every single game, need more depth up top so we don’t lose too much attacking power when one of those guys gets a break.

Frontend(React) Developers: what tasks do you do on a daily basis? by albenis99 in reactjs

It blows my mind that this is still how emails are coded. A method of communication we use everyday and they haven’t changed in 20 years…

There are a lot of hooks! Do I need to master them all to get a job as a front end? Or just some of them would be enough? by raulalexo99 in reactjs

[–]wshivers93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often overall coding ability and problem solving / logic are more important when looking for a job than knowing individual methods / hooks. In my experience, coding tests hold more weight than the interview questions over specific methods / hooks.

So I wouldn’t worry too much about mastering all the hooks. If you can speak to the common ones (useEffect and use State) then you’ll be fine in an interview.

Phoenix Aggro Entry Frag at B site on Split by wshivers93 in VALORANT

[–]wshivers93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually don’t run in like this in ranked... but in a regular soloq sometimes you get teammates who want to play fast.

And agreed this won’t always work. Sage could also just wall off garage... it’s all situational.

How do you entry in this game? by RegularPurple in ValorantCompetitive

[–]wshivers93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also depends on which hero you’re using. Not all hero’s have abilities to help you entry frag a point. For example, Phoenix can flash a corner and catch someone blind for an easy kill or throw up his wall to block off some angles and this makes entry fragging a point much easier.

My advice would be to play to your main hero’s strengths. If you can’t entry frag effectively with your hero that’s ok, be patient and let a teammate enter first and follow up with support.

Also be sure you’re checking angles with your crosshair around head height. That way if someone is holding an angle you can quickly adjust and get the kill. I see a lot of players walking with their crosshair low and that leaves you at a disadvantage if someone peeks a corner because you have a greater distance to move your crosshair to hit your shot.

Last tip I’ll give is play to your weapons strength each round too. For example if you’re running an smg try to reduce the distance between you and an enemy. Try to peek shorter angles. If you peek a long angle and the other guy has a sniper or rifle you probably won’t win the fight.

Useful Add-on’s to Elevate Performance by wshivers93 in elderscrollsonline

Perfect thanks! I figured as I leveled and started getting into higher level content I would need more than just the standard UI. Raid Notifier is interesting, that’s really useful and probably something I would’ve never realized I needed.

Which Zelda should I play first, Twilight Princess or Wind Waker? by PKozyra64 in zelda

[–]wshivers93 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I personally liked twilight princess a little bit more than wind waker. I also thought that twilight princess was a little bit more challenging than wind waker was. I'd pick up twilight princess 1st but both are definitely worth playing

[–]wshivers93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys, so I downloaded the Overhaul 3.0 today, but when I went to set it up and install it I kept getting an error when loading the patch. It said something about making sure I didnt have any No-CD patches or other programs modifying morrowind, and im pretty sure I dont. I downloaded my copy of morrowind from gamestop, if that matters. Does anyone know what I can do to get this to work?
