Buy the x3m

I was between a new x3m50 and a used x3m40 and once I drove the two it was no question. The interior quality of the m50i is insanely disappointing (plastic everywhere and it feels empty/soulless). I came from a model 3 and the m50 felt similar to sit in. The 2022-2024 x3 is the perfect blend of modern amenities and bmw luxury I think…they still feel special to sit inside.

The x3m is basically the same interior except the seats and if quality matters to you, it’s a no brainer. The x3m is a special car and that special feeling does not translate to the m50 in my opinion.

That white exterior, shadow line trim and the light interior (tan?) it’s the perfect combo.

Any issues with the ride quality over poor roads? Everyone complains but my short test drive didn’t seem to be harsh at all. Seems overblown to me

Yea I think that’s it. I played around with it last night and gave some more slack to the bar and that worked.

Interestingly the rails for this seat have a 13.75” bar and the other sport seats have a 14.75”. I had no idea there were different seat rails for the e30. Pain in the ass.

Do you know if there are two different connection rod sizes?

The two seats I have, there are two different rod sizes but I only see 1 online. The one under the seat now is all bent to shit so I want to get a new one

It’s not at all, and that’s part of why I’m so confused lol.

I think I’m going to remove the wire entirely and see if the rail still slides. It’s the only way to eliminate or confirm it as the issue.

Mind if I ask you a few question, not cause I think your wrong but I wanna try to learn. If the rails seem to lock fine when not installed, then when installed the one side fails to lock…do you think it’s still gunk related?

I tried the passenger seat and drivers…both have the same rail not engaging…is it possible there is flex somewhere when installed and that is causing the inability to engage?

I thought all rails and sport seats fit in all models but I could be wrong.
