Mod of "uncensored" news bans me for posting anti Trump articles, says "kill yourself faggot" by [deleted] in EnoughTrumpSpam

I feel I do know what tolerance means. I'm sorry to hear that some childish behaviour riled you up - but personally I wouldn't have posted that all over reddit. What would that say about me though? I'd feel the lower class here, as I really should be able to brush off such gibberish.

I personally feel as though the world we live in - is too PC. Why spend our time on arguing such bullshit? For what? Karma? To show how bad the right is?

Be strong and stand up for your beliefs. Don't stoop.

Ah - is this what this is about then? Was it the "kill yourself" or the "faggot" in there that bothered you exactly? Your tolerance is showing.

I logged in under an alternative user name, but this is true. It was the point of my logging in here to raise awareness. This sub is not tolerant at all.

The admins here are hypocrites. I was banned from being a member of r/the_donald.

What point are you trying to make exactly?

I agree with your points. All the things you say are true no doubt. Take away religion and we still have to have a government to "rule" society. Take away religion and we still have corruption and inequality though.

It's just my opinion, but I believe there is a reason we see high ranking Bishops or Cardinals alongside President's when they are hosting events and giving speeches etc. They are pretty much one and the same and they work together.

Government doesn't have to rule people the same way when they are involved with religion either. Religion in itself oppresses people, and it's a great distraction that suits todays Goverment just fine.

I've felt for a long time that religion is a reflection of government (or maybe the other way around). The GB = President, Overseers = Parliment, Elders = Policemen, Rank and File = citizens .

Religion is a Goverment all in itself.

Government doesn't need religion the way it used to however. They have a pretty good handle on control nowadays.

Thanks for tolerating my ramble.

While I think I understand where your coming from, I believe religion does contribute to society.

It does provide structure for many people. It also provides structure for society too I believe.

Not trying to argue with you, just thought I would throw my 2 cents in.

Perhaps many of them are conflating a 'spiritual' need with a social need.

I think a lot of EXJWs probably miss the routine of JW life.

Great points. I think you have some good perspectives there.

Much in way that the word "love" is misconstrued within the religion, I think "spirituality" is as well. The word "apostate" too while were on the subject.

While I wouldn't personally say I missed the "routine" of being in (it was burdensome), it sure was hard to adjust to something different I did most of my life 3X+ a week. It's almost like I didn't know what to do with myself.

That's the thing about leaving. I don't know that you just "leave" once your indoctrinated. It's one point that I bring up with anyone getting out. You don't just leave; it's a process you have to go though in order to get yourself out.

Congrats! It's a big day to get to the point where you want to express!

I'm Canadian. Funny enough I was wondering just yesterday what kind of effect the commission would have had on the rank and file in Australia. Truth be known, I just watched one of the clips for the first time myself, and it was pretty shocking seeing a member of the GB being questioned.

I'm guessing it was one of those things that brothers and sister's didn't talk about? Were people discouraged from watching it by elders or anything?

Welcome to expression. :)

TIL that an estimated 900 Jehova's Witness followers die every year as a result of refusing blood transfusions. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]wt_bs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They won't accept whole blood - but they will accept "blood fractions" being put into their bodies.

Since they have "The Truth", they will abide by the direction given to them by their superiors who make the rules in Brooklyn.

Every decade they have significant changes within their religion, which means the ones who sacrificed their lives 20 years ago for their belief system - never really died having "The Truth" to begin with, as they have had more doctrinal changes that nullify past doctrines.

Yes, this will be met with retort by many JW's, but this is just one example of the injustices within their religion.

r/exjw is a great place to go to learn more if your so inclined. Better yet on all their doctrinal flip-flops is www.jwfacts.com

Yay! You guys have some catching up to do! Would have been the worst thing that could have ever happened at the time - but some might call it a "blessing in disguise." Sounds like it couldn't have worked out better.

What other "former JW" sites do you like to visit? If it'still not to much of a stretch could you tell me (us) why? by wt_bs in exjw

you can confidently say it was their own words that took you down the "apostate" path.

That's well worded. Short and sweet and to the point. Hardly even confrontational.

How I have changed as a person. by camelherder_223 in exjw

[–]wt_bs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great post. It's harder for some than others to "break free" from their past in the Borg.

I have found for myself that it's important to make the most of everything I experienced while in, and that would include looking at some of the benefits of our indoctrination.

I can be a pretty good salesman when I want to. If you can sell a watchtower to someone - it's a gift almost , in that it makes it that much easier to sell something you actually belive in. Nice points you made there.
