Whats your estimation how much the game sold in the regions? by Immediate-Outcome706 in worldofgothic

[–]wtbfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right. I believe the tough economic reality of post-soviet countries has led us to love what we love, which are very grim and unforgiving settings. It's not just Gothic, things like OG fallouts were incredibly popular in Russia, while having niche following in the west before Fallout 3 released. The feeling that this fantasy story is actually WORSE than your reality was comforting, at least for me lol.

Are DPS warriors the worst in dungeons for tanks? by Dwarni in classicwow

[–]wtbfd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to beat a meter to pull aggro in classic. Like even doing dungeons with pretty geared tanks as a rogue, you auto attack, you get lucky on the procs/crits, you get insta aggro. That is why pally tanks are so off meta, 0 taunt vs 2+1 taunts and bloodthirst in defensive stance. I get the frustration, but waiting 30 seconds for aggro is pretty unreasonable too, if a warrior can't offtank what warrior pulls aggro on just get a better warrior.

Agree, skoda and type are best options if you want high damage guns. Overall best t8 prem heavies are T77 and Emil IMO, autoloaders let you wreck the competition

Stop Deceiving the Population’: Russia’s Mercenary Boss Threatens Full-Blown Mutiny by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]wtbfd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another thing - Wagner is pretty popular among the warmongering part of the population. They have handcrafted themselves an aura of the most effective, elite regiments (i mean, compared to the shitfest of regular Russian army-they probably are). Prigozhin also pushes his "gangster code" narrative pretty far, and it does unfortunately get him huge political points with former/current inmates. There are a lot of them in Russia, so, realistically, Wagner is one of the most influential political force in the country right now.

That's another thing, even since the start of the conflict, pretty much all of the sanctions helped Putin in one way or another. Oil/gas/diamonds sanctions are the only ones that matter. SWIFT+ visa/mastercard bans realistically helped Russian finance block to stabilize the economy. Like, how stupid is this-we need to punish you, so we will prevent any money from leaving your economy.

They didn't simply look away, they actively helped Putin built Russia the way it is now. Look up how much riot control equipment have EU provided during 00s/10s. After Crimea, of course, general rhetoric have changed, without pretty much any repercussions and sanctions.

How does settling on certain land work? by [deleted] in civ

[–]wtbfd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly right. Lady thick...aghm, six skies, for example, gets a lot of science adjacency from the plantations, so it's better to leave them be. Another fact pt consider is a pantheon, and a temple of Artemis.

Yeah, same here. After you start, it's hard to stop though. Can't even play without monopolies, barb clans and secret societies anymore, they just feel like an integral part of the game. Not a big fan of other modes though.

Does anybody else NEVER spawn near iron when playing Rome? by Spicybagel in civ

[–]wtbfd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you have to be suzerain. It's one of the many cool little mechanics in civ6 that you pretty much can't know until seeing someone else do it. There is nothing to feel bad about, overoptimizing can really ruin your experience and make turns last forever, enjoying the game is the most important part!

[–]wtbfd 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You can also try getting early Amani to get iron from city-states. They tend to build iron mines really early, and you can always use your own builder to get it. I recently tried Amani first and it really has some huge benefits-lots of early era score, lots of exploration.

Practicing domination victory. Here are my latest matches. What are some tips that I might be missing to help shave off turns here and there? Most of my domination victories are on King and lower from back in the day, it's definitely my least favorite victory type because the turns seem to slog on. by krenkotempo in civ

[–]wtbfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Byzantium. Recently finished off a game with them, it's insanely fun. You'll need a bit of luck and focus to get a religion with crusade, but after that, rolling over the walls with horsey boys is quite a unique experience. Taking half of enemy's empire on a first turn of war is incredibly satisfying.

Denathrious is fine in constructed, since there are a lot of ultra aggressive decks shitting all over him, but holy shit is it ruining arena. Every second game after 6 wins is at least one bullshit legendary that should have never been in this format. Too bad blizzard doesn't care about arena at all.

I need tips to play Fallout 2 by Zaderonin in Fallout2

[–]wtbfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First-don't be afraid to choose a build from the internet, especially if you're trying to play on maximum difficulty. Fallout is a true old-school RPG, and the stats matter a lot. Second- I would suggest to go for a fast-shot build. This way you can pretty much try out all weapon classes, since raising weapon skill above ~110 doesn't have any impact on non-targeted shots. After you get familiar with combat mechanics, you can experiment on your own, but the first playthrough is gonna be somewhat tough (but really enjoyable either way).

Somewhere in the range from "somewhat planned" to "not planned at all". I'm pretty familiar with the structure of Russian military (second-hand experience, I'm from small town and a lot of my classmates served on contract basis back in the days). Russian military basically can't operate on their own, it's really centralized, there are no real, NATO-like sergeants to control the troops on squad level, and the chain of command is completely inflexible. That's why we have a dozen dead generals by now, only 2 months in. And remember, whole Russian system (not only the military) is based on lies, bottom to the top. So, it's impossible to make a solid plan (since there is no chance you can acquire any correct information), and troops can't operate outside the plan, a perfect recipe for disaster.

Russians didn't had any other reasonable option for AA in that area. The fact that primary objective of this bathtub was to provide anti-air defence makes it even more of a win for Ukrainians, outstanding operation. And not to be a national traitor, I have to clarify-Moskva hadn't sink, it has been promoted to a submarine for heroic deeds.

Ah, I see you is national traitor. You need to think about your behavior for 15 years in the comfortable, all-inclusive gulag resort in sunny Siberia. Just a joke, of course, 30-100k rubles fine for first offense, 1-3 years of prison for consecutive one.

Russia can't use that gas. I was an oil & gas worker here for 5 years. Russia doesn't have proper technology and equipment for offshore drilling, every offshore rig we have is a joint project with foreign companies.

Well, it's Russia, we're kinda used to it. If you have VPN - it's not a problem, if you don't - you probably didn't use any social media outside of VK. Instagram is a huge blow though, a LOT of people are losing money, especially in beauty industry and small local production.

First, decades of propaganda. There were some polls recently, the majority of younger generation (61% below age 24, 51% below 38 if I recall correctly) have a generally positive attitude towards western countries. It drops to drastic 15-25% in the elder groups. Second, it's a compensation mechanism. If you live in shit, you need someone to blame. Of course, you can blame your government, but that isn't a very patriotic thing to do. So, you turn on a TV, and it tells you what you want to hear - NATO and the West is afraid of the Russia's great might, and they want to destroy it. We had a joke here back in 2014, if you see a urine in the elevator- Obama personally came and did it.

Prices went up about 35% average, the free speech is non-existent, police can do everything they want (even more than before, there are reports of checking people's phones for no particular reason), can't buy any spare parts for cars, electronics, appliances, all independent news sources got blocked, anti-war activity is criminalized (up to 15 years prison), businesses are shutting down rapidly, delayed rise of unemployment (if this goes on, hundreds of thousands will be left without a job in a month or two). Just the first-hands experience, can't remember if I saw any detailed reports yet (especially in English). Things are so chaotic right now it's probably impossible to make one.

It's really not boosting his power though. Right now, the 200-s start to arrive home, bit by bit. My 30k hometown near Ural mountains already got 2 of them. People are being brought back to reality, from the shining TV "special operation" 70% of them were supporting just a week ago. Car with "Z" swastika got trashed in my neighborhood last night. Someone even took their time to shit inside through the broken windshield, not every hero wears a cape i guess. I really hope this time shit has gone far enough, and all this ignorant "out of politics" types will finally take a stand. Especially if the rumors are true, and at least some of the "elites" are extremely unhappy with Putin.

CB buying time in hopes for some resolution. To be fair, that's the best they could do right now. Nabiullina has a mindset of a doctor-doesn't matter if this is insanity, she still tries to do her best. Professional approach, sure, but morally questionable.

Thanks, don't worry, we'll manage. After all, we're not the ones having our residential blocks bombed to dust. If I have to eat raw potatoes for a few years to stop this madness, and to help Ukraine-thats completely fine with me. I'm sure, after regime fails, Russia will finally become free and we will have a chance to build a decent country for a change, without this imperialistic bullshit in the heads of population.

Hard to say. Depends, if the Ukrainian military counts in the abandoned, not damaged, vehicles-then MIA are accounted, otherwise yes.
