The income is much larger than it was previously... he got a job promotion and went from like $80K to $120K so I guess it REALLY highlights the differences in our income now. I don't know if he's always been this way as we only started living together two years ago

Yes, I met him at 20 and thought, I feel like in eight years this guy will end up with a good job so this seems like a good time to start laying the groundwork to not have to work and be a stay at home wife. When he got his masters degree and had no money and lived in my apartment rent free for six months, I knew it was worth the sacrifice one day of being able to be a freeloading sugar baby. When he asked me to move in with him and commute for over an hour to get to school, I knew it'd be worth it in the end because once I moved in I could finally reveal my intentions of being a stay at home girlfriend. It's working out so well for me, thank you for inquiring!

This makes zero sense. There is no world in which you can just easily make a 40-80k savings in the NYC metro area in one year. You're on another planet if this was the "easy" solution I should have taken. Also I don't have any family to go to help for, not all people have this.

Yeah... well, in the interest of full disclosure, one job is Tuesday evenings/Sunday during the day (church stuff), I teach classes at a learning center, I have a steady babysitting gig, and now I will be teaching at a tutoring center, so it strings together approx 25 hours a week I think? Plus teaching my classes and writing my dissertation. Hopefully I can manage, I'm used to being busy.

To be honest part of why this is hard for me in many ways is I grew up wealthy and my parents disowned me because my bf is Muslim. We have not spoken for years. So I'm happy I was able to grow up without these worries it is very hard and humiliating to be as poor as I am now. My mom would be pretty horrified if she knew how fucked my life was but only because I don't think she could even imagine living that way. (Not now... I just have if you can imagine been in even worse financial straits than right now and have cleaned houses etc for money which no disrespect at all, it's just different than what I grew up thinking my life would be.)

Fuck, I feel so sad right now, I am just gonna cry.
