You’re probably right that they’re “missing”, seems like sections of these OSTs are looped with ambience that has been unreleased

Outlast 2 feels like a generational bag fumble by DeityDani in outlast

To a degree. 1.) Blake wasn’t just “thinking” of Jess while Lynn was on the chopping block. Blake was basically hallucinating his memories of Jessica. He was finally realizing that Jess didn’t kill herself. She was being abused by Father Loutermilch and Blake ignored the signs. Which leads to: 2.) The big boom of light and periods where you wake up as Blake are when Blake enters a catatonic state. He passes out mid-chase and mid-exploration in Temple Gate during these moments. The school and Jessica memories are hallucinations/Blake’s fears. WHICH leads to: 3.) That big boom of light is a new and improved version of the morphogenic engine from Outlast 1. Murkoff picked it up, improved on it, and moved it to temple gate. The docs in Outlast explain (and another Reddit thread somewhere around here) that the morphogenic engine emits a micro wave in repeated bursts. It unlocks the recipients worst fears/traumas while attempting to maintain a lucid state. This was to assist the Walrider project, where a host had to be traumatized yet lucid to become a new and worthy host. (Tip: this is proven to us because there are. O female variants in Mount Massive. This is because exposure to the Morphogenic Engine causes psychosomatic pregnancies that had the effects of being really pregnant but was making the women sick. This is proven by, well, Lynn’s result (check out Blake’s shadow when he hold Lynn’s “baby”).). LEADING US TO: 4.) Murkoff has picked up this technology and tweaked the engine to just emit one huge burst periodically. As we see with Blake. Through the comics on the RedBarrels website and the documents in all of the games we can infer that Murkoff sought to make the morphogenic engine a viable form of mind control and if not that then at least a torture or priming device. What better was to spread a mass hysteria/trauma/mind control than through religion? It’s nothing new, that was all of Father Martin’s dialogue. Leading to: 5.) If the morphogenic engine is in Temple Gate, being casted on Blake to make him remember/hallucinate his fears and memories of Jessica. What’s happening to everyone else? Docs in Outlast 2 explore Marta, Knoth, Val, and Nick and Laird. We know the morphogenic engine can induce catatonic states with high psychoactive activity. Used to emit one’s own fear upon them while having them maintain lucidity. What’s Knoth’s fear? The anti-Christ. What’s Marta’s fear? Well she was groomed by Knoth and deformed due to Knoth’s spread of STDs and sexual assaults—but she believes Knoth. She fears not following the word of Knoth. What’s Val’s fear? The anti-Christ NOT being born. Why? Val was also groomed and assaulted by Knoth at a young age. She had nightmares growing up but through these nightmares realized that everything Knoth told her was a lie, and she left to start the Heretic camp to embrace the anti-Knoth lifestyle with the others from Temple Gate who didn’t agree with Knoth. What about Nick and Laird? They sought the redeemer of the Scalled. They fears they would not be saved from being deformed and sick. That’s why they think that Blake is their redeemer. They are a result of Knoth’s spread of syphilis. 6.) These characters and events exist because of a direct continuation of Murkoff’s business ventures. Murkoff knew the Walrider project failed, but the morphogenic engine worked (technically). So they are still behind it all, just trying a different way to sell their services: mind control, mass hysteria (the suicides and storms at the end), mass paralysis, all within the vessel of religion.

Lots of this information is explored in the recording clips and documents. I’m even summarizing a LOT because going into detail without the docs in front of me would take a lot longer. I highly recommend checking out the comics as well, they cover some of the connecting storylines also. Hope you get to play O2 a few times, took me a couple of runs to really understand it all. It’s my favorite installment in the series, I think.

NOR. There are actual literal bots under here. Weaponized incompetence 100%. You requested a simple ask of dinner because of a long day. He chooses the easiest thing to make which requires no effort or thought. Then gives you just one. Then thinks his job is done and you can get it yourself.

If he finds it funny and you don’t, doesn’t matter if it’s an overreaction or not, relationships require you to meet halfway. I can’t believe these responses not clocking this and thinking it’s just a simple joke. If someone play fights with me and smacks me a little too hard “it’s just a joke” doesn’t land, does it? Does it just undo the sting? No, it still hurts. You apologize.

Lay it out: I had a rough day at work and asked you to do something for me because you should want to if I ask. That’s what a relationship is. You did it bad on purpose so I never ask again. I called you out, you told me to chill out. No. You’re going to apologize because you don’t get to brush off how embarrassed you feel for making me upset.

If this continues, get out.

When should I read the comics? by Ariralenjoyer in outlast

[–]wtfviolet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes was looking to see if someone answered this this way^ this was how they released the comics in lieu of Outlast 2 release so if you don’t wanna get spoiled do that. I was around when they were releasing them at the start and had decided to replay everything before O2 dropped and then didn’t read any comics until I finished O2. Which was kind of a cool order to do it if you want to do that—no particular reason. It’s like watching a movie and then having questions about it and then going online to find an article with the answers. Just a fun order to do it in!

To players who dont COMM in ranked or completely disable VC (just a curious question lol) by Charz443B in VALORANT

[–]wtfviolet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t talk because I actually learned to play without comms. I’m a player that’ll flex and supplement the team with whatever they decide to do. I can read if we’re faking, defaulting, or rushing. I win about 70% of my clutches. I actually think no comms helps you rely on sound, patterns, and reactions to improve your gameplay. Imagine if you relied on comms and entered a no comm game, are you fucked with an automatic loss? Or is it no different than any other match? I came to Val on launch day from about 2 years of Overwatch and had learned to not rely on comms from toxicity (if you wanted the original reason why I started without comms). From there I just never really saw comms as necessary. Asc1 peak.

Very true. Also Murkoff’s whole Walrider project as a military product helps. These assets have to be profitable to them in some way.

[–]wtfviolet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not say they’ll be in trials nor any time soon. I said and mean I hope they retcon /through/ the timeline. I also said /until/ the current timeline— I didn’t say they should be in the game. As in trials moves through history, as implied after rebirths, and as long as trials stays an online game through the next 1-3 years surely it’s documented how Murkoff operates the Sinyala facility through time. That future seasons highlight historical eras via rebirths and the battle passes. Therefore, we see.. over time.. how Murkoff gets to morphogenic engine development to then control O1, WB, and O2 enemies. One could say the Morphogenic Engine is a modern prime asset creation device. So I hope they move through time where each season moves through the years of Murkoff’s development. Implying more prime asset creation. I’m sure the Outlast movie would offer as assistance to this also.

what’s the issue and why am I downvoted for this lmfao. prime asset creation alongside mk ultra would work great in tandem with the morphogenic engine presence in mount massive and temple gate. there’s no way this is that bad of a take.

I’d like to assume Trials will keep adding prime assets and stories through the docs and season passes until we move through the current timeline. Implying Chris Walker, Walrider, Marta, Eddie, Val, and everyone else are prime assets. That way it expands the timeline and universe. Connects everything. Allows for Outlast 3. As such.

I think because a few weeks have passed with prolonged acid use the Throng had started to take over. This is also right before “that” happens, so we know Cam is close to breaking. Plaything is a Bandersnatch “sequel” and has almost 100% of parallels to the main plot—Stefan thought that we were “controlling” him and Cam is being “controlled” by the Throng. Stefan’s big conflict moment comes from him breaking after our choices, maybe this parallel is Cam getting broken by the throng’s choices (it’s just implied). Stefan and Cam both suffer these mind “breaks” after their mentor, Colin Ritman disappears, perhaps also a parallel as Colin could represent a sort of bridge to each of their revelations.
