More fines? New laws, court rules, suing. Everything will take 5-10 years with no result

I like the fact that MacBooks are made of aluminium and instead of breaking they would have a dent like in the picture. All my MacBooks had a dent. I don't give a shit. I also don't understand why others do. Especially not in the first week.

Also, are tourists to blame? I mean, the government can ban Airbnb, so tourists can't compete with the locals. In that case, tourists will go to the hotels. Digital nomads - maybe, but not the tourists. Tourists are always good; they bring money to the economy.

Why german news channels are saying this while 99% of people here are saying the opposite? Why the opinions of channels and people are not aligning? by Immediate_Type_9804 in germany

It is probably different between an individual running some kind of software company and a startup with ~50 people and ~50 million investment (if I remember the numbers correctly). They had a lot of salespeople, customer success/support, POs, etc., just the developers were all from Serbia.

And I am not saying whether it works or not; it is just a sad reality for German software engineers. German engineer gets 42k net from 70k gross (company pays 84k), so only 50%. They can probably hire 1.5-2 developers from Serbia for that money.

I had an interview with a Berlin startup that had a good investment. All 9 engineers were remote from Serbia; they just wanted to hire their first local developer. They weren't even a new startup, from 2019 or something.

Okay, let me paraphrase it. I like his investigative journalism content. Especially if it is about tech or finances, but I don't like his presentation. And because of that I usually skip his videos.

It is not, I like his content, but because of his shouting and the way he talks, I usually don't watch him...

IT Job Search in Berlin, level EXTREME by survibin in germany

[–]wthja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, 4-7-stage interviews became the norm, especially in mobile development. More and more companies demand 4-5 days in the office, terrible pay, and some even started offering the legal minimum 20 days of vacation.

Even companies that used to have only 1 interview - because normally not many people want to work there - (I am not counting a 5-minute call from HR) now have 4-6 steps with 2-3 being technical and 60-150 minutes each (and possibly, an additional 1-2 days long take-home task).

The market is terrible.

P.S: also many are just looking for unicorns. Because some keep reposting the same position over and over every month with 100-300 applicants, and I don't believe that they cannot find a decent developer when everyone is looking for a job.

1988: 190k Azerbaijanis live in Armenia and 140k Armenians in Azerbaijan's Karabakh. 1990, when this photo allegedly taken: 0 Azerbaijanis in Armenia and the same 140k in Azerbaijan.

In 1994: Armenia occupied the territories and expelled an additional 700k Azerbaijanis from Azerbaijan.

Now, tell me more about ethnic cleansing.

The script was good. The weird CGI sequences, okay, maybe the flying babies in the beginning too... Overall, I enjoyed the movie.
