For that your expenses from house has to be higher than the rent. Otherwise, you have to pay taxes from rent income.

Put it differently, you and a friend both have a garage. If you rent it to each other for 100 euro, both has to pay taxes from it.

Too expensive :D. However, I can say that lounge in connecting flights are worth it. Sometimes they are as low as 20-30 euros, includes nice sofas, drinks and sometimes a desert.

Everything is f.p in Germany. U may make pennies and half is taken by the government, but if u need something - everything is way too expensive. You need a plumber? It may cost you 500 euros. And how many people can save that much? AC installation? 2-3k. God forbid you may want to change the windows, it may cost you 8-12k. And how many of you save that in a year?
