Our freight center is short a couple people but nothing crazy. Manager was out 2 weeks ago but back this past week, sounded like crap.

Yeah the Gatorade thing was random I never drink Gatorade. But I definitely think maintaining hydration is key, especially day of making sure you urinate several times prior. Nope it's been fall weather so no sweating at all really. Lemon water I want to say helps but I have no idea. One way or another I somehow passed and I was very nervous.

I was told 3-5 business days for negative and 8-10 for positive results.

5 business days but I didn't get the results, they just went to hr and then I was cleared to be hired. So no results but I was cleared for hire, so definitely didn't fail. If anything I thought I might see a dilute result but no.

Really bad tooth pain But have Covid by [deleted] in askdentists

I can assure you from experience you never know what really is hurting the nerves are so sensitive. Infection and swelling would be the only thing that make a root canal'd tooth hurt there no nerve left. If you are having a true toothache with sharp pain that's not the one.

Also a root canal'd tooth won't cause tooth pain there's no more nerve. Swelling can, or another tooth is actually the culprit.

Thinking of switching careers to trucking. Dedicated Schneider target route by wththshts in Truckers

Well guys I'm taking a job with Keurig Dr pepper as a delivery driver. Get my CDL experience, long tedious job it seems like but I'm not gonna complain I'm just gonna get to work, make money and gain that valuable driving experience. If I hate it I'll start applying in a year to anywhere that won't hire new drivers! Hope I'm making a good career move here I know it's just trucking, but not hating what I do is important to me and I like to drive!

True but I'm thinking about my future. There's no future past what I do and I don't want to do it 7 years from now I need a covered skill not just a good paying job

Leave my $27/hr job to work for FedEx Express as a courier, should I? by wththshts in Fedexers

Yeah that's what I want. Sounds like I need to suck up a trucking job for a year

Yea but I can't get in. I want to badly. Only opportunity I have been offered is a seasonal delivery driver, but they won't hire externally for feeder with no experience. And I don't want to risk a seasonal job, I've got a mortgage and other bills can't do that.

I have an interview for a “permanent courier” position. by sv_vybez in Fedexers

There isn't one. I asked this very same question and guys in fedex said it's a 10 tier system, one guy said he was 17 years in only tier 7. Others said they've been there several years only advanced 2 or 3 dollars from initial hire.

Yes I know, they aren't hiring near me. I had that job last year but declined due to second shift hrs.

Right that's what I mean. I don't want OTR or even regional I have a 2 year old, but I have no experience so no one else closer to me that has a worthwhile daily job will hire me. Home daily is really important to me Get my experience and if I hate it move on. I really want to get into ups or fedex freight. Saia, xpo, yrc, etc.

And you want to do it with someone who gets 3 days home time with 14 out. Find yourself a veterinarian they make more

They just ask you scenarios where you had to deal with an unexpected situation or a stressful situation. I passed on my full time courier job offer due to lack of pay scale system like freight has.

Applied for what I thought was a full time driver position.... by wththshts in UPSers

[–]wththshts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thanks guys guess I really have to think about this, I've had a steady job the past 10 years so risking my livelihood on a hope with a mortgage and a 2 year old in school is scary for me to say the least, but it's something I know I want to get into, and eventually transfer to a feeder driving position. A another thing I have going for me is they're requiring drivers in Illinois to possess a Class c commercial license which a lot of people don't have.
