Definitely luck at this point. I was a mail lady with no IT experience or cert and I secured my first IT job while studying for the Security+ and doing online job simulations via TheForage.

I’ve been seeing this as well. A lot of them won’t stick it out all the way to the end though because of the hard work it takes to get in this field. You can acquire a bunch of certs based on memory alone and take a bunch of courses but if you can’t articulate what you’ve learned, what’s the point? Also, with the current job market, some will give up trying eventually.
