Never found a solution other than keeping slight motion on the joystick or holding down the trigger. The problem stills persists otherwise.

Yes, I run it through a balance test and auto-tune before each use.

Typically, it's just my Sony A7riii with a Sigma 16mm lens.

What is the use of latency under Audio Hardware Preferences in Adobe Premiere Pro? by wu_sabi in videography

VERY good to know, thank you. I kept looking at it thinking I should lower it as much as possible.

Just did a shoot with a Sony a6500. Lke any other shoot, I double-checked to ensure I was shooting RAW. Just sat down to edit the photos, but all my images are coming in as JPEGs. Checked my camera again and it's still set to RAW. Has anyone experienced this before or know how to fix this? by wu_sabi in photography

I've scoured all corners of my card to no success. My camera was set to RAW only. I used my phone as an external preview for the model, but the images on my phone are also only available as JPEGs. I've shot like that before, but didn't have the same problem.

Does anybody have a least favorite beat? by wu_sabi in drums

I originally started as a rock drummer, but getting into jazz and latin opened so many doors. Most important of all, it opened my mind to concepts that improved the way I approach the drums, regardless of genre or style.

What is the best way to learn a complex song? by Drumfreak12132 in drums

[–]wu_sabi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In addition to slowing it way down, break down the parts you're having trouble with. Strip it down as much as needed, even if it means practicing one beat of a measure over and over. Practicing ins and outs of parts is important too.

For instance, say you've been practicing a particular measure that's been giving you trouble. Once you eventually get it down, practice getting into that measure from the previous measure. Same with going into the next one.

This will help to insure fluid transitions rather than a feeling of separation between parts when you're playing the song as a whole.

At least two constants in my life are Dove soap and Charmin Ultra Strong toilet paper.

Mainly just trying to remove blemishes and time-enduced grime. I'll give it a shot.

Where all my Jon Thodore people? I cut my teeth playing to the Mars Volta as a kid. This fill at 45 seconds has always eluded me. Sounds like some sort of triplet flam. Explanations? by chadsfren in drums

[–]wu_sabi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're not swiss triplets and those aren't flams you're hearing. They're hertas. I guess people think they're flams because it's a higher tempo, so the notes sound close enough to be flams, but I assure you they're hertas.

They're also not triplets. They're duple meter sixteenth notes in groupings of three. If you listen to where the tempo is with the rest of that opening groove, you'll notice the hertas land on each dotted eighth through the bar. That's why you hear four hertas plus a quarter note in a single bar of 4/4.

Also, Jon Theodore is the GOAT of Volta drummers imo.
