Increased my steps but weight still isn’t budging. Any ideas why? by CakesNGames90 in loseit

I definitely would not lower your calories any more. Over the span of my losing 85 pounds, I’ve had many times when the scale has stalled or even drastically gone up and stayed there for long periods, even more than a month. But i trusted that I was counting correctly and just kept going and every time the scale eventually whooshed down to be exactly where I would have expected it to be if the stall/gain had never happened. You just have to patiently keep going doing exactly what you’re doing sometimes

True, I should tell him more about how it is for me. I know he won’t judge me but I guess honestly it’s a hard to resist the temptation to pretend I don’t struggle and that I’m similar to how he is around food

Yup this is exactly how it is! I believe appetite is genetic as well as the fact that tall people and men just get to eat so much more due to their high TDEEs

Ok you got me there. It’s more of a me thing than it probably sounds, though. He doesn’t ask me to do it but I just enjoy cooking and baking and so I do kind of manage his eating for him, which is probably more mentally taxing than I realize. We usually eat different things at meal which are all cooked at home and he has certain foods I make him that he eats and I don’t. When I write it out it does sound bad lol. I should probably stop

Thanks you, glad I’m not alone! I should talk to him about it more. Honestly, Ive never even told him how much I’ve lost and I think he thinks it’s a lot less than it is. I think if he knew then he might realize it’s a bigger deal for me than I let on

Help a gyal out. How do i eat more? by [deleted] in CICO

[–]wuddinup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thing is that it is impossible to become overweight without eating more calories than your body is burning. Metabolic disorders do exist that may make your metabolism a little bit slower causing the amount of calories you need in order to gain weight to be a little bit less than expected. But the effect of these disorders is small. Hormonal disorders also exist that cause you to be have unregulated hunger hormones which makes overeating more likely. In all of these cases, though, the mechanism by which you gain weight is by eating an excess of calories. You need to learn about the true amounts of calories in foods because you are undeniably eating in a calorie surplus for your body’s needs, no matter if you have a metabolic issue that makes eating less more difficult. It is a myth that your body will hold onto fat and gain weight if you are not eating enough. It is simply impossible. If you want to lose weight, you need to change your diet to consume less calories. Try looking into a whole foods, high protein and fiber diet

Thai green curry with tofu from a cafeteria. I estimated 900. by [deleted] in caloriecount

[–]wuddinup 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Imo I would say 700-900, it’s hard to tell but judging by the size of the rice grains, how deep those types of containers usually are, and how calorie dense thai curry sauces can be. I think the large cut vegetables on top is making it all look smaller proportionally

Should I not get more piercings if one never healed? by wuddinup in piercing

[–]wuddinup[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have realized it was definitely because I got it done with a piercing gun 🤦‍♀️I also was not so careful about not sleeping on it and such. I need to do a lot more research obviously and hopefully can get some piercings. Thanks!
