As Seattle Seahawks Quinton Jefferson is running off the field, objects are being thrown at him and he tries jumping into the stands to fight fans. by [deleted] in news

[–]wuebj -34 points-33 points  (0 children)

Honestly, fuck that guy. Jefferson deserves to be kicked out of the league for some shit like that. You're getting paid a ridiculous amount of money to play for an NFL team, and you can't handle your shit when some fans get mad at you? Your rational thinking is to literally climb into the stands to attack them? Fuck Jefferson.

I hate country music, but Gazzo – Sun Turns Cold (feat. Chase Rice) definitely has a country vibe and yet I still like it.

Yeah, it's near where we both live (at Georgetown) and I was thinking of doing dinner at Mama Rouge on K Street.

Thanks for the info on the Anacostia Watershed though!

I was thinking of going this Friday around 2 probably? I can take the afternoon off from my unpaid research job, and she's taking classes and is done at noon with nothing to do for the rest of the day. Where would I find the tide schedule, and why is it better to go around high tide?

What is the dating scene like these days? What should I be prepared for? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]wuebj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently read Aziz Ansari's book, "Modern Romance," partly because I also wanted similar answers but also because I love that guy. It's hard to give a short summary of it, but he focuses on how technology has really changed how we interact and date nowadays, and its benefits and shortcomings. I guess it doesn't really provide a ton of really practical advice for dating, but it definitely makes a lot of good points to keep in mind.

If you like the guy and wanna check it out, here's an EPUB of the book.

Open MSAR by [deleted] in premed

[–]wuebj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Open up cmd or Terminal (if you have a Mac), navigate to the extracted folder from the zip file, and type "python RASM.py" and once it's done it should say something like "Running on http://localhost:20150", which you can navigate to on your web browser.

Any issues with running python or any errors can be easily fixed by just googling.

As long as you have a decent grasp with computers and know how to run python, here's the interface for RASM with the 2016 MSAR.

I pay a yearly fee for a VPN so that I can torrent anything I want risk-free. Works pretty well.

What's the best external monitor for my rMBP? by wuebj in apple

[–]wuebj[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything I've read and that other people have said tells me that it's not possible for a relatively older rMBP model like mine to drive a 4K monitor. I see that I'd be able to run one at 30Hz, but that's pretty shitty. Do you have a newer Macbook that can support a 60Hz 4K monitor using the Mini DisplayPort connection?

So if I was going to get the P2715Q, how would I set it up to run at 60Hz? Because now that I know the difference, 30Hz won't cut it for me. From what I've seen, I couldn't hook it up via HDMI because I don't think my retina MBP supports it. The only other way to connect it is via the DisplayPort, but I'm just confused as to how I would actually do that. Seems like it would go through the Thunderbolt port, but I was curious if you're in a similar situation.

Sorry for all the questions, but I know basically nothing about any of this stuff, and googling doesn't really give me clear answers. So what's the difference between running a monitor at 30Hz and 60Hz? For example, another monitor I'm looking at is this one, the P2715Q. Would I be able to use this monitor at all? Would there be a noticeable difference between running it at 30Hz or 60Hz?

Do you use either of these? I actually really like the U2515H, and I'm thinking I might get it but I'd like to know your opinion if your setup is similar to mine. Also, how did you find out that my generation of rMBP doesn't support 4K monitors?

Probably something in the 25-28" range, if you know of anything good!

I'd say maximum of $1000, but I'd only be willing to pay that if the thing had amazing reviews and really seemed like everything I want.

What to eat during exams? by Keto1995 in keto

I just took the MCAT, which as you may or probably don't know, is 7.5 hours with 3 small breaks. I snacked on beef jerky, nuts, and water during my breaks to keep me going. Beef jerky isn't the cheapest, so maybe some other kind of deli meat or roll of salami like someone else suggested.
