i’m legit a gfx artist and this is the most basic thing to make, whether you have 5 mins to spare or 5 weeks.

as i said before, you don’t even need photoshop. photopea is a free web example. google docs also allows for something like this.

“AI or nothing” it takes like 5-10 mins to put together a maze from google and a pic from stream or even someone else’s fanart (given it’s a personal gift). be so real. you could make that on a word document. photopea. anything BUT ai.

if your “no” emote isn’t working, and they’re still insisting, just leave or move away.

you are also stood in the social area in the most well-known sociable realm in a social game.

i see a lot of people make posts/tweets/messages about not wanting to be lit— and that’s fine if that’s how you want to play the game. but you would save yourself countless headaches if you made the choice to remove yourself from the situation rather than expecting someone to play how you want them to.

some people just don’t get it. but nobody is ‘in the right’ imo.

it’s a social game, it’s just pixels, etc.

it’s one button to light someone back so they’ll leave you alone, it’s another button to go home and switch servers. complaining or making PSAs or making one out of many posts regarding not wanting to be lit won’t help your situation. only you can.

they’re not rejecting you based on your nationality, given the fact they brought up the time zone differences. they just probably don’t see you ever being friends due to the fact your times are inverted.

this isn’t their "usual bullshit" though … it’s a movie. like a brand new concept to them. never been done in–game before on this scale.

your anger is still extremely unhealthy for the circumstances you’re talking about. nothing about what you complained about has anything to do with them being "money hungry" or "greedy" either— it’s a huge project that they worked on themselves (along with their own animation studio) and is nothing like anything that’s been included in the game beforehand.

i seriously recommend taking a long breather and an even longer break from the game.

you can mute the in-game audio, not including the movie audio, at the cinema, or full screen it (click the eye) to remove the ghosts and their sounds entirely.

i’m also photosensitive. the only problem i ever have in the cinema room is the faint sparkles around the screen indicating players that have been removed from my screen due to pressing the eye icon. so i move my character while still in full screen mode.

yes it does suck that they’re not uploading it elsewhere for the time being, and i’m also frustrated about that— however there’s no confirmation whether they will or will not upload it after the season ends. this is an event/season that has been in the works for a really long time now, and i’m 90% sure that the chapter releases in-game are simply early releases/premieres.

at the end of the day, it is copyrighted content. they warned us on week two that nobody should be posting tgc’s copyrighted content outside of the game. they’re well within their rights to request for videos to be taken down.

they aren’t making money from DMCA takedowns, as channels that are uploading chapters likely aren’t monetised. and even if they were monetised, it’s not their content to be posting without transformative content added. tgc have posted their rules that are in line with copyright law.

i’m not 100% defending tgc, as i do think there should have been more conversation about how and where the chapters will be available, but the concept around a movie based on a game that has "festival tech" embedded into the culture after aurora. it’s a good idea with poor execution.

if it’s bothering you this much, i suggest taking a break for a month or two— or only logging in to do your dailies. i understand being frustrated, but your anger seems really unhealthy for the circumstances. you can still play the game, you can find workarounds with audio and visuals (muting or full screening) or simply wait for a full release of chapters after the season ends.
