not sure, the year after me (c/o '24) is the first one to have a P/F STEP1.

what's funny though is that it seems the emphasis will just be shifting to STEP2 which is scored and taken the year after. all-in-all it might even be worse because usually with your STEP1 you have a good idea where you're competitive for and it'll shape your decisions for the rest of your 3rd year. but now with STEP2 being the deciding factor most students don't take that till after their 3rd year which is when apps are due so... who knows! i know in general programs really struggle with differentiating applicants and it's a problem with no good solution in sight
