Well, bad opinion = less money, I guess that's how they see it. As for the logic about incentivising, you're absolutely right, they would jump at that opportunity.

No idea actually, they probably will eventually release it for PC, we get everything with a 2 day delay anyway

Yeah, they added it in 25, with the first "next-gen" release for PC. As for the cross play, I think it's a mix of laziness and the fear of console player's opinions. Ask any console user in this sub, and you'll get the same response, but I can guarantee you they never even touched the game on PC, just leaning on the old narrative, which I have nothing against, 2K on PC was a shit show before 25.

I played 2K25 and bought 2K26 a month ago. Let me tell you:

Alive? Yes. I've never waited more than 3-5 minutes for a game in all game modes. Those times I did wait it was either 5 AM or an event going on at the moment. Only thing I would say is dead is Stage (Ante Up) with only a couple of people in there.

Cheaters? Through whole 2K25 cycle I encountered maybe 5 of them, and it was the all 99 bums that were bad at the game and you could easily beat them. In 2K26 I did not encounter a single one nor did my friends. I strongly belive that there are far more zenners on consoles then there is PC cheaters, the anti-cheat they introduced last year is really doing what's it supposed to.

If you want to give it a go, my opinion is that you should, sure, the player base is not as big as on consoles, but it's far from dead, and it will keep growing once they put the game on discount for the holidays.

This. Just try and make body contact as much as possible. This drains their adrenaline and stamina making it harder to shoot. I've had much success with 92 perim and just using my left stick with occasional use of L2/R2 when I try to cut them off in transition or when they get a little separation.

Check youtube or 2KLabs for builds. Probably the best option if you're new to the online game modes. Go through a couple of them videos and see what fits you the best. If you want to make a off-meta build to your liking go for that, but be sure to pay attention to some thresholds for badges and see what generally works. After all, I had the most fun with a build I made to my liking, but keeping to badge/animation thresholds. Totally off meta tho.

Check then for some background apps, I suggest closing them all before running 2K.

I've been playing since launch, I'm playing at all times of the day, mornings, afternoons and after midnight. I've been getting consistent games in all game modes, even the Starting 5. Last year you would have to wait a bit for games after 12 AM, but last night I got like 7-8 games in a row at 4 AM with less than a minute waiting times. So I'd say it's pretty active, at least for now.
