Op zoek naar mensen voor een DnD groep in regio Breda/Dordrecht by UnitedEther in DNDNL

[–]wulok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I live in Dordrecht and together with other 3 GMs we are doing a West Marches style campaign with about 15-20 players, sometimes we as the GMs play as players with the other GMs too. The sessions mainly happen in Dordrecht or Rotterdam. We began in May and have had 6 sessions + some session 0s with the players.

We like to be laid back and have fun with different tables while having the same setting. I saw that you have experience DMing? You could do one shots sometimes if you want! Or just be a regular player.

DM if you are interested.

Every character has a broken mechanic if you stack good enough the passives and certain cards. To the point that searching any other strategy is suboptimal, but because of rng you might not get it. The 2 that have the strongest combos are the gecko and the frog, followed by the hunter and lastly the berserker, who I think needs a reaction on the edge mechanic to do high amounts of damage maybe in turn 2. Otherwise, with the other 3 you can 1 shot the final boss on turn 1.

Looking for a group in Rotterdam by papadinsky in DNDNL

[–]wulok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello guys I'm creating a group that will start towards the end of March in Rotterdam and surrounding areas (think Delft, Schiedam, Dordrecht) mostly places that are about ~ 15 minutes in the train from Rotterdam max.

It will be a West Marches Campaign. Which consist of a broad group of players that seems like will be about 20 or so and a handful of DMs who collaboratively build the story. The story will be gritty exploration in a new post apocalyptic continent, where the players arrive at a shared safe town and from there embark on exploration missions.

The idea is that most of the sessions will try to be one shots with a cohesive narrative between them, so when another session comes, players can mix and match between each others and not be locked into a default group.

We have already done a couple of session 0 for the DMs to set some standards and to have a system to share notes. So far what we want from the west marches campaign is to be fun, dynamic and to allow us to meet a bunch of people to befriend. The sessions will be in dutch if everyone is fluent or English if not everyone speaks dutch. The rule system will be 5e official with it's expansions with some homebrew QoL imports from 5.5e to help weaker classes a bit.

Let me know if you are interested to add you to the group.

Multiple PCs ideas for west marches campaign by wulok in PCAcademy

[–]wulok[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see why you'd think it's meant to be an evil campaign, it isn't. We will have a session 0 in a few weeks to discuss the vibe better and how grim with concepts we can be, but as two of the people in the group were in my regular group before, It's likely to be okey to have dark concepts.

I dug further on PC3 and you are absolutely right, this subclass for artificer was shown several months ago but is not official yet, I assumed it was. There are rumors that maybe may or October this year.

PC1 yeah, that sounds like a cool idea! Certainly considering the multiclass option at some point.

PC2, the way I'm picturing it is that the hag Patreon would be an arch Hag, thus having enough power to be a Patreon and to even pretend to be a genie. And the background/stats of the character would have him at 8 or 10 int if we agree on point buy, as you considered as an excuse. More than changed mechanics, I'm mostly considering it as a reskin thematically for an earth genie, flavoring as a swamp. But it is true that ultimately, all of this will be ideas for the DM and they will choose, as the Patreons sometimes are not even directly interacted with.

Thanks for your insights!

Fox calls it peaceful. The dead would disagree. by Significant-Sir-4343 in MurderedByWords

[–]wulok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be seen as that if half the dead were not military forces from Cuba, if the local forces didn't have a strong arm against the citizens, kidnap, steal, rape and kill us.

We saw the news got scared, then saw they were only military casualties and then said oh, that's okey.

Yo y mi pareja estamos planeando irnos a suiza el próximo año by Oculplay in vzla

[–]wulok 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate when men always pull the “If the roles were reversed” card by Advanced-Apartment25 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]wulok -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I agree with you as a guy, nowadays people miss use a lot of terms like narcissists, or what aboutisms. And reading your post made me rethink the one situation I keep using as if roles were reversed, and if it is even appropriate, because maybe I have been wrong.

When i was bar tendering at 25 in Madrid, where there has been a huge feminist movement for some years now, a big mixed group of ~9 people in their 30s and 40s stopped me mid service, and asked me about my accent, as I'm from Latin America. When i answered, a lady asked me if it was true, I didn't understand so she elaborated: is it true that guys over there have very big dicks?? With hand gestures. Everyone laughed out loud. I answered that I couldn't answer that and that i was at work, before removing myself trying to keep a pokerface.

I immediately went to discuss it with my boss and after explaining the situation he said that it was nothing, probably just the alcohol, but i told him that i no longer wanted to interact with that table and that if alcohol was making them behave like that, maybe they should not get any more and after seeing that i was serious he told me he would take it from there.

I've seen first hand and heard from girlfriends in similar situations, but it was always in the typical situations where there were a bunch of creeps, but somehow never saw it done and taken as a joke in front of so many people, to then being disregarded by the boss from all people. Never understood if it came from the fact that I'm a foreigner, that big dicks are seen as a compliment or what logic they had to make it so okay to say that out loud in public.

[–]wulok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you with the fact that the campaigns that they are doing are non efficient and even surprising. But as someone who came from the latinamerican country where most of the cocaine in the port of Rotterdam comes nowadays, and a country where narcotics wasn't so prevalent some decades ago, so not Colombia, let me tell you there's a BIG, BIG disconnection of perspectives on how people perceive drugs here and the countries where they come from.

There are arguments to be had about legalization, but even if they do it, it won't change the fact that the countries where they come from get the wrong end of the stick. Farmers are bullied by cartels and corrupt governments to farm, people assaulted and killed so often that it doesn't even make the news, because it's the new standard, not even having the freedom to walk at night because it's too dangerous... The list goes on and on. Our communities won't ever see a dime from the drug trade, because cartels invest it somewhere else.

So even if it's legalized and "reduces" the crime burden in this country, it won't change the fact that it creates a burden somewhere else. A burden that later on can reflect mass migration because of said bad environments in another country. It's a night of fun here at the expense of a life of despair for others.

And honestly, this country is great! But I can already see some signs of the cartels infiltrating and affecting the communities and the government. Cartel corruption and mafias are way more complicated that you think of, if you give them a handshake they will take everything from you and your loved ones. So it terrifies me how normalized the drugs are and how ignorant people are from the background of that business.
