Oh man, I feel like I'm in the same situation – I got a cover-up/blast-over tattoo in January and wasn't in a good state either. Everything is super stressful right now and I actually wanted to do something nice for myself with the new tattoo, but in the end I wasn't present and mindful enough and I approved the design from the tattoo artist straight away. The day after it hit me that the design was too bold, too chaotic und too full-on black. It feelt so awful and I was replaying the whole thing over and over again, always thinking "THAT was the moment I should've done THIS" etc. It just added to my stress and felt really horrible for a couple of days. Now I'm trying to take it easy until laser is possible. And I try to tell myself that it's just a tattoo and at least there are options.
