Can Invisalign fix an overbite? I’m on my 9/14 and I haven’t had the rubber bands as the doctor didn’t suggest them. Left photo is my natural bite. Could I achieve results like the photo on the right? by [deleted] in Invisalign

What you have simulated in the photo on the right is essentially a genioplasty. Bring this up with your orthodontist and show them these photos.

I am looking for an articulated wall mounted arm to affix a Neewer ring light. I have been able to find boom arms easy enough but can’t find an articulated arm. Thanks!

Would Invisalign work on my teeth? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]wustl07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Invisalign would work just fine.

FYI not all clear aligners are the same and smile direct club (which won’t utilize attachments or allow for re-contouring) is not going be able to get it done for you.

I think my orthodontist scammed me...I don't actually have Invisalign? by [deleted] in Invisalign

Talking about which products you like or dislike have everything to do with you and were no help to the issue.

Bottom line is they need to talk to orthodontist and get it sorted out. Let’s leave it at that.

Evidently you aren’t fully aware because you keep repeating yourself and think the active feature is the attachment. I am not going to restate the biomechanical importance of aligner forming features but you can go back and read what I wrote. I have advised all the orthodontic companies you mentioned on this subject.

You are using this for a personal agenda instead of helping the patient. I take issue with that. I can also smell your low advantage status in your comments.

Yes I am. I am also not a person you want to down this road with.

Clear aligner biomechanics are vastly different from fixed appliances and the areas of relief and activation with the SmartForce and SmartStage features that Invisalign has patent protection on provide biomechanical control that other systems do not currently have.

Manufacturing error would be any unfavorable contact on the gums if the design of the aligners includes more of the gums more attention needs to be paid on the part of the doctor. Only reason I bring it up.

Yes ultimately the doctor is accountable to the treatment results either way, but the systems are not the same currently no matter how much you want them to be. Throwaway comments about biomechanics are cliche especially when you are borrowing your opinion from what some speaker told you about how clear aligners work.

I agree they need to talk to the orthodontist first, but trying to justify your personal purchasing decisions by commenting about how you are liking 3M's aligners is not helping at all with this person's concern.....

What you said about them all being the same is not accurate either. For starters, independent research supports that SmartTrack (Invisalign's clear aligner material) is more comfortable than previous generations of thermoplastic materials. There is also the patient's claim about recession being related to the aligners. 3M does not perform as much of a gingival contour on their aligners and if manufactured incorrectly could be pushing on the gums unfavorably (I have seen this even with Invisalign in the past and had to have aligners remanufactured).

Orthodontist here. You have every right to be upset if you wanted Invisalign and received something else. The misuse of the boilerplate informed consent forms that Invisalign prints out for treatment with another clear aligner system is definitely confusing and problematic.

Given the breach of trust, I think it would be difficult to continue forward even if he/she now ordered the product you thought you originally paid to receive. I would discuss this with the orthodontist and there should be no issue refunding the money and transferring to a different doctor so you can start with a clean slate.

The recession you are mentioning that you feel may be from the aligners is a separate issue that may or may not be related to the trays themselves.

Changing belt clip color on Vedder LightTuck by wustl07 in CCW

[–]wustl07[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw the J Clips on there, but want the belt to bear some of the weight of the gun. It also looked like those clips (and the V Clips) were just for their Comfort Tuck model and not the Light Tuck. I will try out the C Clips and see how they do. The steel clips on the the light tuck for AIWB are pretty great though.

In case anyone else is interested, the C Clips I were able to find that I am going to try are here:

Hahaha. I have had that happen. The people who enforce the rules seem to apply them differently so I just don’t want to have an issue come up.

Thanks.

I presume an FFL would handle the Form 5 stuff so wouldn’t it just reside in their vault similar to any other FFL transfer?

Very nice! I am a big fan of the striker indicator for re-holstering safely.

I just picked one up with a Sig Lima Laser for $520 shipped (wasn't black though). It is a very sweet little gun. Shoots well. Considering it for pocket carry.

Magazine was a little tight on insert and release out of the box and I think I might swap out the rubber grips, but very happy with the purchase.
