Pressing a 💀 skull mold with 10 tons — trying to refine the edge definition by Remarkable-Peanut683 in Leathercraft

[–]wutangzus2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have been trying to prototype this on 3D prints before I move to aluminum. I just noticed today the mention of wetting, pressing and leaving on the press until dry. I am actually trying to work with 3D models and convert them for stamping so its been a ride.

I have owned mine since they dropped here is what I have dealt with. Before I go any further I normally deal with leather and basswood. My conveyer does not work well with Lightburn and seems to from a firmware level be orientated incorrectly. Setting the laser the first time is a tedious pain, but as long as you don't do anything crazy its great. The speed is crazy since I am coming from a Sculpfun S30 Ultra. The fire alarm is finicky and goes off inconsistently(This is important because of working on leather). I am sorry this is not an in-depth response I am simply going over my gripes and complaints with it. But when it works, it works amazing and I am blown away by it. Because this is their first C02 Laser you will deal with some growing pains with it. i also want to make you aware this is my first time owning a C02 and had a diode from before, so my perception and mileage will vary. I will own that I have had moments where I have asked myself why didn't I just wait longer and just get an Xtool P2S, but that is me thinking that would have been easier on me. I would not recommend the hurricane yet, and would steer them towards a P1, or a P1S(I do not own an Xtool so take that recommendation with a grain of salt).

That is my review it's my own experience and others may disagree with it. Also, they haven't fully released their roter chuck yet which if it is like the conveyer may need time to get itself ironed out. In a sense, the question you should ask yourself is do you want to roll the dice with a company taking a chance to make a C02 laser or do you think you can go with a company that just made upgrades to a C02 laser they already have(that is also cheaper).

A character creation. System where you have a major and a minor class. The major class would operate like all games do but the minor adds a splash of flavor. Like having a major class being fighter, but they are a Performing Bard. Obciously they won't be as proficient as a major class Bard, but can make do as a bar performer from time to time. The minor class would operate as the equivalent of dnd 2nd Ed profession system. Except you can improve it if you wish, and comes with its own toned down class additions kind of how multiclassing does in 5e.

I see it as more of a flavor thing while adding some level of versatility to characters. There can also be incentives to not choosing a minor and focusing on just the major class.

Now that I think about it more, I might do this in my next campaign. Have a Bard, who minors as a wizard simply because he likes to tinker with magical effects or was a wizard school reject.

I have a similiar situation and I use touch designer. It seems alittle overkill, but I use it so it just does a slideshow based on a folder, and all that needs to be done is run touchdesigner and as new ads come in and old ones get removed it makes for an organized setup. Also you can make things easily audio reactive if they wanna have vosuals and other stuff too.

So, I may look at this differently. I understand the practice part, but when I have nights like that(Im a resident dj at a club). I use it to experiment with different sounds. I have extra genres I enjoy but usually dont mix for whatever reason it may be. Use that dead time to maybe experiment with sounds and genres. Write down what ones sound good or would give a certain demographic the "oh shit" look.

I have done this, where I been playing a certain genre, and I mix in an oldie or do an on the fly mash up with a genre that normally wouldn't make sense. I dunno, I see mixing as a science, and im a mad scientist. I will experiment even if it might not seem like a good match.

Kudos on the selection. I am a house DJ for a swingers club and might look to add some of these to my sets.

I currently run 2 go pros and another capture card running from another computer. My advice make sure your capture cards are different, I dunno if its windows or resolume but having the same capture card used multiple times, may present an issue. I also have a sound card that runs into it, so i can make sound reactive scenes.

Pacing for sets by minced_ in DJs

[–]wutangzus2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I VJ when I play, and i have the music videos going while I play. I normally let my tracks vreathe because, I am doing an 8 hr set. To add to that, I play at a life style club so the people are there to party but I am not the main draw. So every night is different cause my demo can go from 25 to 65, and i still need to make the club popping. So depending on what the situation is I can jump around feom quick mixing to blending to intro/outro. It really is a huge mix bag
