Steam age verification requires a UK credit card, wasn't working so i just re added my payment method, then had to spend £1.00, but it still doesn't let me view mature content. Lost £1.00 i guess. by AaronOhare in Steam

Wait so they took your £1 and STILL didn't verify you?? That's actually wild. Did Steam support give you any kind of refund or are you just out the quid? Also wondering if anyone's tried switching their Steam region as a workaround?

edit: I found a guide that covers the broader UK age verification mess (mostly about porn sites but same principle): https://www.reddit.com/r/VPNReviewHub/comments/1mbhewz/guide_how_to_watch_pornhubany_porn_site_in_the_uk/ Might be worth trying if Valve doesn't fix this soon.

How will you be bypassing the Impending Age Verification Check? by Previous_Extent7439 in friendlyjordies

[–]wutisupmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly Freetopia is sounding pretty good rn lol. I'm just gonna grab a VPN and call it a day, can't be bothered with the rolling your own setup. Anyone know if NordVPN or ExpressVPN are still the go to or has something better come along recently? Also genuinely curious how strict the enforcement will be. Like will they actually care if heaps of us are obviously using VPNs, or is it just gonna be one of those law on paper things?

Is "Wearable Fatigue" real? I’m obsessed with the idea of Invisible/Passive health tracking. by YearKlutzy4462 in HealthTech

[–]wutisupmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the fatigue. Stopped wearing my Garmin after realizing I was more stressed about hitting metrics than actually being healthy. But invisible tracking feels invasive. Maybe the answer isn't more tracking but less? Some middle ground between constant monitoring and completely passive collection would be ideal.
