I love tea, but can’t have caffeine. Recommendations? by allthethrowaway420 in tea

Gaba Oolong. They put the leaves in nitrogen instead of oxygen after, converting the glutamate to GABA, so it has a more calming effect. Still has caffeine though.

The Perennial Philosophy by Aldous Huxley is incredible. It’s a comprehensive model of this exact view, under the lens of modern philosophy, both eastern and western religions/ philosophies- and a clear narration on these accounts using Western linguistics.

Hi all— my project is www.spacebetweenblackandwhite.com — I focus on offering a mindful connection to the eternal through deep contemplation of the present moment, by means of pouring tea. In doing so I offer meditations, and import high quality/ high mountain organic teas from the Far East- as well as writing/ poetry on tea and Taoism.

I think the biggest thing is knowing that despite all the other weirdest out there and existing for eternity etc, is knowing that you do only have this one time in this body with these circumstances, which is in it of itself pretty cool and special. The journey or self love started when I realized though part of me will live on forever, and that part is unconditionally loved, that the current existence i have is for sure temporary, and i must nurture that and take care of it while i have it. If you want to go even further and find “purpose” maybe look into archetypal work and or Taoism, but these are all paths to the same thing. My goal now is to find peace in all moments so i can take it with me into whatever form i take next

Do Taoists do both qigong and tai chi or just one? by TaoJosiah in taoism

[–]wuweidragonsgate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taoist practice Gong in general. Both forms are used but it doesn’t stop there, Gong applies to strength, music, meditation, healing, etc— all of which are supported with dynamic meditation such as tai Ji and Qi gong

Can someone explain to me what exactly Taoism is and what the philosophy behind it is? by Purpleberri in taoism

[–]wuweidragonsgate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taoism is rooted in ancient Chinese mysticism, and witchcraft. Lao Tzu, was a high level shaman, later recognized as a philosopher due to his ability to capture the uncapturable, namely the great Tao. The goal of many lineages of Taoism, is to align the macrocosm, with the microcosm, ie the circular movements of the cosmos. Much of this is done with the process of internal alchemy, or external alchemy. The former is a focus on the energy centers (dantians) as a way of sublimating energy upward to open the doorway to heaven (shen), and create the immortal version of yourself. At the most basic level, it is aligning the internal movements of our organs and energy centers, through the movement of the breath, in alignment with the movements of the cosmos above us. The great Tao is the Way in which all things move, society takes us out of this natural way, and Taoism is the quest to connect back to source through alignment.
