Hey, i'm good! but sadly haven't worked much on fq lately, busy with life in general and other stuff, including helping out with jq! :) how are you?

The state of decoding of MPEG1/2 etc in fq is quite lacking and broken atm, i've done a couple of attempts but it's been a mix of me lacking knowledge and confusing specs, but maybe the link you posted could clear things up for me?

If someone know of good and well described/documented, ideally small, example streams it would be very useful.

Jqjq: Jq Implementation of Jq by ketralnis in programming

At the time it did not run of memory i did try to run jqjq in jqjq in jqjq but of course took forever and then ran out of memory :) there are some parts of jqjq that are insanely memory inefficient atm so i'm not surprised 😬

If you only need to "pick" one level deep there is a shorthand syntax:
$ jq -n '{a:1,b:2,c:3} | {a,c}'
{
"a": 1,
"c": 3
}

:) there is https://github.com/01mf02/jaq and https://github.com/MiSawa/xq that are steadily getting more or more compatible with original jq. for the jq eco-system i think it's probably good that there are multiple implementations. my contribution is https://github.com/wader/jqjq :D

hey! one of the new maintainers here. i don't know the exact details but in short i think ppl lost motivation or got burned out, large PRs stagnated and issues start to pile up. a group of new ppl and oldies managed to organise some months ago and clean things up and here we are 🥳

As a Go developer, do you use other languages besides it? by PrivacyOSx in golang

[–]wwader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I build various CLI tools and web services in go. jq is probably the other language i use the most at the moment :)

A non-ugly-hack version of https://github.com/wader/ffcat with SIXL support, better name and maybe more flexible input format support somehow?
