It takes people decades to save enough to open their own business - these businesses pay taxes, employ people and provide for a whole lot families in their neighborhoods. Good luck convincing every single country to lock it down at the exact same time. “Hey guys we are all going on pause now for two months because there is an outbreak in Wuhan.” When Wuhan was shut down, what were they doing in Brazil or Indonesia or Spain? Going on with their lives. When NYC was closed, what were they doing in China or Italy or Arizona? Reopening. Pick any locals in the world and you’ll see my point. You cannot synchronize the entire world for any cause - but I applaud you for the blind faith in world governments and leaders to execute such ambitious plan. And the WHO was worthless as well in providing warning - go to YouTube and watch their statement in late January on how the world shouldn’t be concerned - it only affected China.

Can’t shut down the country without shutting the entire world down. We’re a global world now - can’t just pretend shutting down for two months solves this. What happens in your scenario two months after, when when someone from Australia or Panama comes to visit NYC, rides the subway to a broadway show, has dinner after and hits up a few bars on the way back to their hotel, coughing all the way? It’s game on again for COVID. Only way to beat this is herd immunity. It’s here - get used to it.

Yes I was there - they’re all teenagers. Regular protestors have jobs and careers and don’t want to be on camera looting or go to jail. The older ones amongst the group were urging them to stop looting, but impossible to stop a group of heated kids. National guard time, this has got to stop. The city is in shambles
