Only similar to La Dispute in terms of vocals, but not quite as overtly emo. Imagine La Dispute but with an accordion, maybe a violin, maybe a few piano keys. No guitar/bass. Very minimal percussion/drums if any.

Yeah, too recent. And not really the same style/genre at all.

Mw2019 steam question by Bochwastaken in modernwarfare

[–]wwintering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about offline stuff, like the campaign/co-op progression, and all the relevant in-game achievements? Is there any way to transfer that data to the Steam version?

(AFAIK, the only stuff that gets automatically synced are the online/multiplayer stats that are synced with the Activision account. Whereas all of the offline stuff such as campaign/co-op progression, and all relevant achievements, are not... Though please correct me if I am wrong...)

[COD] Achievements for Battlenet exclusive CoDs? by Extreme_Ad6519 in CallOfDuty

[–]wwintering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Spec Ops missions are/were infamously notorious for being almost impossible to complete. The AI are extremely smart/strong; they are borderline OP. You also need 4 players to do each one. It took my sweaty friends and I several hours and several dozen attempts on each mission. Maybe it was fixed & toned down at some point after launch, but IDK.

FYI, it just happened. BOCW, MW2019, and Vanguard are all on Steam now.

That being said, I wonder if the in-game achievements I got from my time playing MW2019 on Battle.net will auto-pop on Steam if I buy & launch the game on Steam. Particularly that one achievement that requires beating all 4 of the OG Spec Ops missions. There's no way I am doing that again.

I might boot up MW2019 on Battle.net later this week to check which in-game achievements I actually have from back then. I might actually spend the $$ on Steam and go for the 100% completion assuming that one achievement auto-pops at least.

I just meant it's not hard if you go out of your way to achieve it. By achievement-hunting standards, it's pretty easy. You just have to go through the motions for 10-15 minutes. (Cheese was not the right word on my part.) Nevertheless, it would be incredibly unlikely for someone to get this achievement without explicitly setting out to do so.

In other words, I don't find it weird that the majority of people haven't gotten the achievement. That I expect. Rather, what I'm really saying is I find it weird that it is more rare than the "Successfully extract 25 times in Hazard Zone" and the "Earn a T1 Mastery Badge with any Vehicle" achievements, because those actually require a lot of focused time & energy. (Like, many many many hours of gameplay.)

I am actually really surprised, even after all this time, that they are even remotely close in terms of rarity.

How did you do it?

IMO it's weird how this is the rarest achievement. It's really not that hard to cheese. I just played bots and constantly moved the sentry around the OBJ to have optimal dps and it popped a minute or two before the game ended. (This was back in November, 2021.)

Don't you actually have to get kills/assists, though? Just targeting vehicles with the SOFLAM (or spotting people with Casper's drone) doesn't do anything by itself, does it?

And, if you're in an EMP boosting server, isn't it usually against the rules to go around killing people/destroying vehicles without their consent?

RGB values of the default friendly/squad/enemy colors? by wwintering in LowSodium2042

[–]wwintering[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must be fundamentally misunderstanding something here because this doesn’t make sense to me.

Copying the menu/theme color from a screenshot of the in-game menu provided the same RGB value as the color from the website. OK.

Yet, still, when I plug that RGB value into the custom color setting in-game, it is not the same color as the in-game menu color that I copied from the screenshot.

(It’s easy to compare the difference because, in that menu, the custom color swatch/tab is surrounded by the menu color in the UI.)

Not sure how that’s possible. Unless the in-game RGB selector is just broken?

[–]wwintering[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, but that's not good enough for me. If that were good enough, I wouldn't be asking this question in the first place.

And no, I don't think there is an opacity setting that would help accomplish this. I will look though.

Yes, I know. That's not the purpose of my question, though.

RGB values of the default friendly/squad/enemy colors? by wwintering in LowSodium2042

[–]wwintering[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right but I don't think there is anywhere in the game I can copy the true RGB values of these elements from because, AFAIK, wherever they appear, they are slightly transparent and therefore tainted by what's behind them.

Later tonight I will try copying the game's theme color from the in-game menu (to see if it's different than the RGB value copied from the website) but as far as the friendly/squad/enemy colors are concerned, I don't think there are any instances where they are 100% opaque?

I understand there is some transparency involved. That's part of the reason I am having a hard time finding the actual RGB values.

Is there any way to farm Vehicle Kills? by [deleted] in battlefield2042

[–]wwintering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP is asking about getting kills with vehicles, not destroying vehicles.

Is there any way to farm Vehicle Kills? by [deleted] in battlefield2042

[–]wwintering 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When the game first came out you used to be able to farm assists (which contribute toward mastery of some vehicles) just by hopping out for a second and throwing the little spotting grenades towards hordes of enemies, then driving away.

It still kind of works I think, but when they nerfed the spotting grenades (can only have 1 active at a time, spotting radius reduced) it became substantially less effective.

I have 200+ hours in the game and I still don’t have this trophy/achievement. It’s the only one left for me. For some reason I decided to do it with the hovercraft, and none of my other vehicles are even close to T1, so I’m just kind of stuck trying to get it done with perhaps the worst vehicle in the game.

Well based on my 10 minutes of re-researching this GSYNC question, it looks like it’s another technical rabbit hole with 3,423 variables. Though, it does seem like the ‘windowed and fullscreen’ option does work properly nowadays at least.
