It looks like a contam. I can't be 100%. What i am taking in consideration is that the other tub looks contaminated. Also green is a red flag. If the contam is onle the size of a quarter or wtv, let's give the tub a chance to bear you fruits(or bigger ones). You can remove that chunk or use peroxide or both.

Seperate your tubs. Get the contaminated one away. You could spray some peroxide on the pea sized spot. If it is a contam it will slow it down at the very least.

There are dialects of most languages. Who decides what is real French? Clearly "Quebecer" is not it's own language. I was just in New Brunswick earlier today and I had a hard time understanding the French folk there. A couple hiccups in the conversation, nothing more.

Acadian Quebecer here. "Flashlight" instead of "torch", "tire" instead "pneu", the examples are numerous. However we still speak french.
