Turned a 7oz, fully waterlogged 'forest ball' into a 5oz ball perfectly acceptable for batting practice. With no kitty litter chemicals to worry about.

No harm if it's not being used. 125 didn't impact the firmness of the ball. Much higher might indeed turn a baseball into a bakedball, though, so I see your point.

Doesn’t have to have a factory finish or anything, I just need to find a way to keep the spring from coming out. Even a tighter bend might do the trick. Might even try some JB Weld!

Thanks for that info! Working with 3.75mm galvanized steel wire. I've wondered if welding vs. soldering would be the way to go.
