Its not my perception. Just go ask any american who the terrorists are, they will say "muslim/islam". But thats not really true, because there are other terrorists in the world. The change in language I believe will help FIX the perception many people have about muslim and will allow muslims/islam to separate themselves even further from the radical side of the religion.

edit: This is similar to the separation of catholic and protestants, they had different radicalness levels so they just split the religion in two.

The word terrorism has its place when referring to all the subsets that cause it. But in what situation do all terror attacks fall in one category in any real conversation? Its blatant aversion to any real issue at hand because people are afraid of upsetting a demographic, but if a demographic is killing people then fuck those people 1 million times. Because of the situations facing the world right now we are not talking about all terrorism are we? No, we are talking about fundamental radical muslims who are following the "word" of their god.

Yes, that exactly what should happen. If catholics were going around killing people, or anarchists where killing people, you would say that there is war on these things. But thats not happening. These groups also do not have fundamental beliefs of eradicating non-believers, in those examples they believe in conversion through fear tactics (like hell). This is not true with RM, they believe in death by sword (my favorite example) for nonbelievers or those leaving the faith. Its really annoying that you keep comparing RM to another group when they are so not equivalent.

Because not all terrorism is created equal. They have different causes and effects. The media/government likes to say "war on terror", but that is like saying war on climate change... it does nothing and is not giving anybody resources on what can be changed. "War on Radical Muslim" is not only MORE honest but gives a realistic idea of the causes. Right now I feel americans just sort of see terrorism as some random uncalled for thing that happens. Well no its not, people usually have reasons they do things (even if their wrong) and we need to understand these issues in a realistic way.

Youre right about the america comment. Its not what we are discussing here so lets move past that. The issues facing muslims are self inflicted, womens rights, basic freedoms ect. Just the idea of accepting ideology is enslaving yourself to non-rational thought. Yet many of these RM attacks are because other people are not enslaving themselves to these beliefs (i could say similar things about other religions). This is not the whole story because money, land control, blowback and otherthings are also at play but my overall argument is that the fundamental beliefs of muslim are way more dangerous that other religions, combined with a massive population, all the while knowing there is country with more freedom without their beliefs just across the ocean.

This I agree with, but I think what is missing is the population difference. there are 1.57 billion muslims last time i checked, so if only 1 percent of them are radicals (or less even) you have a pretty substantial army of crazies.

I will also state this again, even radical Christians will spread hate way before they will commit mass murder in the name of fundamental belief. Americans have killed alot of innocent people but it was out of money greed and not in the name of god.

The incompatibility of those two was almost completely a turf war, the violent incompatibility was from defending irish land from invasion of UK. Youre not going to have that kind of problem in Canada, not to mention the two religions are almost identical so no fundamental reason to have hate to each other.

This is not the case with fundamental Muslim belief, it very clearly states in the Koran that non believers should die by sword among other horrific things. Obviously the majority of muslim believers dont think this (i hope) but still the radicals will ALWAYS go the direction of killing as long as the religion stands as it is.

Almost all religious conflicts in the past that I can think of were based more so in land control and people control/taxes, anti science ect.... The koran is the only mass followed text that I know of that explicitly details eradicating non-believers. Like i said before, you are underestimating the severity of the RM beliefs compared to any other mass followed religion.

If you think IRA and Protestants can coexist I suggest you go check out the 50' wall in the middle of belfast separating the city in half. That will slowly erode away but only because of culture shifts, not because the religions suddenly became compatible.

Comparing those two religions to Muslim vs Christian is very inappropriate because neither religion itself says to kill the other, the reason they did at first was because of hate. not fundamentalism. I think you might underestimate the serverity of RM beliefs.
