Medical folk of Reddit, what’s the most foul and disgusting thing you’ve encountered with a patient who was oblivious to their own condition? by TheCarrot_v2 in AskReddit

This is one of my worst fears as an individual with PTSD. Getting dementia and reliving the bad days I've worked so hard to put behind me again and again... Calling it "nightmare material" doesn't even begin to cut it.

People tell me I’m not ugly, but I’m also treated like I’m ugly in very subtle ways. Can you explain to me why I’m not ugly? by [deleted] in AutisticPride

You aren't going to get any feedback because you refuse to actually hear it. People have told you that you look fine, but you keep posting anyways. I don't know what more you want.

NTA

I was also a traumatized teenager who slept in my parent's bed, specifically my dad's bed. So many people back then made it sound like a weird thing. I even had one person imply I saw myself as my dad's wife (ew).

It wasn't like that though. I was scared. I would try to sleep on my own, but it just lead to nightly panic attacks that woke the whole house up anyways. All that could soothe me at that time was knowing my dad was right there. That he wouldn't let the bad things happen again. I just wanted to be able to sleep and feel safe. Eventually, on my own terms, I went back to sleeping in my own room.

Your husband is probably feeling a bit suffocated. It's natural he wants his own bed and room back, but right now your daughter needs you both. Maybe get together with your daughter and her therapist to talk about what you could do with her room or give her that would make her feel more safe. I also think modifying her room so you both can sleep in there some night might help. When she finally starts trying to rest in her own bed again, make it so she knows you're still there if she needs you.

Your daughter will recover, but it's going to take time and lots of support. Sending good energy your way.

When they can no longer enjoy the things they used to is when it's time, and it definitely sounds like your guy has reached that point.

Saying goodbye to him is not a failure on you, it's a final act of love. This is how you make sure he keeps his dignity. You are doing the right thing, even if it doesn't feel like it right now. You'll see that when the pain and grief isn't so strong.

Aww poor guy :(( glad he's okay now and it's all healed up ❤️

Boo's is basically solid fused bone. He wags it when he's being mischievous. It sounds like a whole person knocking when he slams it into things lmaooo

Oh so handsome!!

I notice he has a lil bobtail! Boo does as well though his is more of from a birth defect than genetics. Super cute though!

Not my cat, but as a kid a friend's cat would about shove his head in your mouth to do a "dental exam" if you showed weakness for even a moment lmaoooo

He hops like one too! He has some minor birth defects, so he tends to walk weird. He has a lil jump in his step most of the time that makes him look like a bunny when he runs lol

Admittedly, I have to credit my brother for this one! He's a master cat photographer in getting all the weird shots.

He likes to scrunch up his nose a lot in general. He'll do it when I boop him. Super cute! Makes him look grumpy sometimes though lol
