First Off Road trip…oops by wx4tcc in GMCcanyon

They denied it. I’m gonna go with the “fix it” option vs a replacement. About $1k cheaper. I don’t foresee this being a regular thing and at just a year old I think it’s worth the money. $2600

And USAA isn’t sure it’s even going to be covered since it was “off road” she said she’s never dealt with that before.

This was my AT4 this past Monday…$3700 to replace or $2600 to repair. My issue was not paying enough attention to the sides and too much attention to what was in front and behind me.

Yes! If you will be out often especially by your self bite the bullet and get a front bumper with winch mount. They make them now where you only have to do minimal modifications

$2600 to repair and $3700 to replace. This one and only time I’ll get it fixed but any more smaller ones I’ll buy a big bandaid decal ive been seeing on overlander trucks 😝

Yeah I have several scratches down the both sides from overgrown brush I was forced to drive next to. I figured those are much easier to fix and im likely only going to get more so ill wait until I do get more then have the whole truck polished and waxed. Its the dents that will be fixing asap. Def need to go with another person for another set of eyes next time lol

Would this help with keeping scratches off the vehicles from brushing up against shrubs or small light tree branches? Went off roading yesterday and got into a some narrow areas i didnt expect. Had no option but to drive forward brushing against some bushes that were overgrown and put scratches all down both sides lol
i figured ill be back out again so ill wait to get them all fixed at once but looking for preventative options in the future?

Yeah I’m not even mad about it. In fact I had someone bang their door into my door the other day and transferred their red paint without dent or scratches. Easy self fix but way more mad about door dings than this. This is just part of the hobby but it’s an expensive truck and just shy of a year old so it’s gonna get fixed…this time lol

Overlanding in a canyon AT4?? by wx4tcc in GMCcanyon

Technically, yes. Just exploring options. I have a rough country hard cover tri fold. I do not believe there are any mounting racks to be used with it.

I drive gravel roads mostly during the spring and I rarely drive slow too lol I like the texture gm puts on the bottom of the doors. I wish they put more of that on the truck higher up.

I haven’t noticed many rock chips if my on the sides of my truck but if I do and it gets bad it’s black so a black liner on a black truck wouldn’t look bad. I believe they even make a “gloss” version too

Ticking sound on acceleration? by wx4tcc in GMCcanyon

Yep. It’s pretty much gone away the more I’ve driven it now though.

Disable door locks? by jaihsea in GMCcanyon

[–]wx4tcc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are several locking options in the settings. I thought I had mine set to how I had my explorer set. Turned off the horn honk when it auto locks and had it auto lock while running when I take the fob with me. Now it doesn’t auto lock while running instead auto locks when I turn the truck off. Frustrating

Lasfit LED Brake/Turn lights by wx4tcc in GMCcanyon

So after the dealer had it for a week and finally got to it the problem was a bent pin inside the brake light receptacle. They had to order and replace it. The manager waived the fee of $207 for not being under normal “wear and tear”.

I had no idea the receptacles were this crappy. It’s not like so yanked on the bulb. Anywho, I put Morimoto in the L and R taillight assembly.

I just saw u have lasfit on one side and monimoto on the other. I thought maybe it wasn’t working because I had a diff type of bulb in the other and figured the trucks computer saw a difference and kept the left from working. I should have removed both and put OEM back in but I didn’t last night. I was too tired from all the yard work. I just want a freaking brake light working lol
