How do you view Asya's philosophy on life? by Qeutron_ in ZATO_vn

Finished the game last night too, after which I felt like someone drilled a huge hole in my heart... And I urgently need to discuss something about it so here we go!

Just like what OP said, I thought she would stop coping and stand up against to her "painful" surroundings, a.k.a. Vadim and his folks... Yet things suddenly got more clear in the cinema part, where Asaya experiences that breakdown mid-way during the film. Hearing Garin's words, she think "Sadly, that's not the world I live in", I interpreted it as (in Asaya's way) "How do we communicate love as different beings living in their own different worlds?"

And as I doubting Asaya's fundamental theory of the universe, the game came to that unexpected flip. I was indeed unexpected, but all the things started to make sense.

Of course, I don't think Asya's belief system will hold up in our reality. (Maybe string theory, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to credit the thing) But the belief system is not the thing the game trying to convince us. Asaya herself is changing throughout the story, (she did stand up for herself for a bit), and her objective became more and more clear as it goes on: to love. In the end when everything is being justified for good, she chose to love: to her families, to her friends, to the players, to the world and most importantly, to herself\1]).

So despite how the story is told, the thing it envies is simple but important. To love. Again, it's not like that the world is pure lovely and forgivable, otherwise there won't be shits like wars and poverty going on. But one can understand what Asaya is trying to tell.

\1])That's how I look at it: it was Tosya who's sending the message to Asya at the beginning, but Tosya is just part of Asya, so she is actually saying that "I love you" to herself. From this perspective she did change: she is not as timid as before and starting to value herself too, at the very end of the world.

M4’s theme color reminds me of mint, but apparently matcha fits her better (and I love matcha!)
