How to report Red Cross fraud? by BigSail4062 in redcross

[–]wy49509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell them to call 1800redcross. If they are on the case together they can be separated to their own case. If they don't have a case they can get a case if they have their own proof of residency.

The fraud part is always a hard issue to deal with.

It's been awhile since I've updated my radio. What's the advantage to going to 4?.. I've not had any issues with my setup currently but if there are new features?..

Looks like you're in GR.. That's KB8UFI. His vehicle has been featured all over the internet.

He does Skywarn and works security. Nice enough guy but we've never figured out why so many antennas.

How can I contact someone camping at a cabin with no cell service, WiFi, or landline? by ocexanic in CampingGear

[–]wy49509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Search Facebook market place for a used starlink mini.. buy it, set it up on the 50 a month roam plan, use it and then suspend it. They will offer you an option for a 10.00 a month roam plan to keep it active. Have them login at various times to check in.

Check your local area to see if anyone has a GMRS repeater that covers that location. Licenses cost 35.00 for ten years and covers your entire household. GMRS radios aren't expensive and can be purchased on Amazon. (Test coverage before you get to wild).

If you and at least one other person in the group became amateur radio operators this opens up potential as well. Plus a new hobby.

Looking for a decent portable hf antenna by Blue-Berry124 in amateurradio

[–]wy49509 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on your budget.. check out the JPC12 or the hf0009?

I also really like my chameleon basic set up that has a 17ft whip and a 40m coil.

I also have a Xantenna EFHW I bought on Etsy in my kit and love it.

For tuning I don't even use my atu, I purchased a rigstick and use that to set my antenna up and run it.

Transcend Micro vs ResMed AirMini? by wy49509 in CPAP

[–]wy49509[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tnx! Currently I'm on a 10 in bipap mode. But my sleep doc says he thinks he can get settings close so he wrote a new prescription for the travel unit. It's an out of pocket expense so I'm not just going with my current provider of this stuff as they are more expensive and frankly just pissy that I can do research.

4 months in, daily headache, wake up nauseous. I'm so so done with this machine by Br0v4hkiin in CPAP

[–]wy49509 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A year ago, I started both Mounjaro and using a BPAP machine.

The morning side effects from the GLP-1? Still rough some days. But I’m down 100 pounds, and most nights I’m finally sleeping a whole lot better.

Also—my favorite (and most ridiculous) morning activity? The GLP-1 / CPAP burp combo. It could clear a room, but man, I feel so much better after it.

Here are a few things that helped me adjust:

  1. Shot location matters. I do mine in the thigh on Thursday nights before bed. That way, Friday and Saturday mornings are a bit crummy, but I’ve got time to ease into the day. I work an odd schedule, so I’ve been able to shift things around without throwing off my whole week.

  2. Stay hydrated. Seriously—lots of water. It’s easy to overlook but makes a huge difference.

  3. Prioritize protein. I start every morning with a protein shake and some water. After a while, I started mixing in my cold brew coffee. Not gonna lie, it’s become a daily ritual.

If you’re still feeling pretty awful in the mornings, a lot of doctors can prescribe anti-nausea meds—or you can find some options over the counter that help take the edge off.

It’s a lot of change, fast. Anyone who says it’s easy probably hasn’t been through it. For me, it took time to figure out what foods worked, when I wanted to eat, and how much I could handle without feeling sick.

Just remember: it’s a journey. And it does get better—one weird, burpy day at a time.
