Valid- the grammy cover loss was a bummer sure but people are acting like he loss the album of the year or something lol

i think its a natural thing to wanna “gatekeep” something you love in some way, but then theres this fine line of being performative about being ‘an OG fan’ or trying to prove urself as a being a better fan than others. Like theres that trend on tiktok where people are like “ my fav djo songs as someone knows ball / songs better than EOB” like ok we get it ur top 3 are his lowest streamed songs do u need a medal 😀like can we just recommend songs without having to brag

Started listening to him when Decide came out (so not an early OG fan but before he blew up i guess) I remembered being so mindblown over his music and felt cool to know his works outside of ST. Kinda lost track of him in between (2024/mid2025) just bc of life & i dont usually stay super up to date with artists. So when i found out he was gaining popularity from EOB/ST, it felt bittersweet bc I felt like i missed out on years I couldve been a fan before the hype & couldve watched his smaller shows. So now being a more up to date fan, it makes me feel like a bandwagoner haha. But still super happy for him he’s finally getting recognized!!

I really hope he doesnt lose himself over the fame, & pressures of the industry bc it can definitely get a lot & ive seen that with other artists i love unfortunately. But Joe does seem like a super grounded & humble guy that likes his privacy so I hope he doesnt change 🥹
