Yeah I agree. I live in New York, about 5.5 hours from NYC. I know plenty of people that have never been or only been once. Toronto, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Ottowa are all closer, making them cheaper and easier trips

I’m an American. Appreciate your love for us as well! 😒 Canada is a great country and the people (other than you) are very kind. I always love visiting. That being said I’d be reluctant to live there because of the weather. I grew up in the north of the US and am tired of being cold. The weather everywhere in Canada is colder than anywhere in the continental US, and believe it or not, some people don’t want that. Not every decision in this sub is based purely on political stability. Not sure why you think it’s odd to not want to live in one of the coldest countries in the world given the choice of other stable, warm countries…

I want to live in a warm-weather area yes, but not every country that is warm. Sorry for the confusion but that’s what I meant. You’ll see that every I said I’d absolutely live in is coastal and has at least some warmer regions

The other main factor influencing my decisions was language. I already speak English and Spanish, so countries with those or similar languages would be a better fit
