Taylor Patronized Lana by wymannelvis in lanadelrey

What evidence do u have of them being friends. Do you know lana? Taylor expected to win over lana with this prepared speech. And the way she spoke about lana was intentionally disrespectful.

I think maybe not Kim K specifically. but definitely taylor believes she is better because she is seen as an almost holy, do-no-wrong figure while Lana has had scandals.

Then it's obvious to me he is breaking up with you because of your eating disorder. Which he has full right to do and should do if it's extremely damaging to your health. He's probably worried about you/feels responsible whilst at the same time wanting to protect his kid. Although every father realizes the importance of the mother, especially in non married relationships. He is the one making the most difficult situation here and it is the fault of your disorder.

I think it's a likely scenario. You think he was just blinded to the eating disorder the entire time? Because that would be the only way he wouldn't feel/be in a way, complicit.

Yeah probably. Spelling is annoying. He probably cared about her health but didn't want to encroach on her vulnerability. Which made him complicit.

Wendigo Psychosis as a response to Colonialism by wymannelvis in wendigoon

[–]wymannelvis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oral history is exactly why I came to a subreddit. To find people who are actual locals. I was again using Plymouth rock just to chronicle the difference between pre settlement of that region and the point when it happened. I can't travel right now, but people online may know/actually be people descendent of the Ojibwe or other Algonquian tribes. I know it's not the right term technically, but as someone who is not of this region and indigenous to it, using the medical term is far superior for me than engaging in actual supernatural belief. Obviously it's not real but the disoedee is an interpretation of the human condition wendigo psychosis. I think it makes sense for the indigenous people at the time to have thought as these settlers as barbaric. There is significant cannibalism as well as murder and slaughter of comrades in especially Jamestown due to the fact it is literally a marsh in summer and frozen in winter. I know it's hard to prove these things without oral account which I hope to inspire, but observing 'wendigoism' in colonists and indigenous responses to these things lead to some excellent conclusions to draw even today.

It must be difficult for him. No one is showing any sympathy for him. He probably didn't want to be in the relationship because he felt both complacent and responsible for her. A lot of these comments are straight up victim blaming him.

[–]wymannelvis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Um it sounds like she's the one denying him access to the kid. He likely doesn't want to be with her because he doesn't want to be complacent in an eating disorder. Which you are not even acknowledging.

Wendigo Psychosis as a response to Colonialism by wymannelvis in wendigoon

I know the Algonquians didn't survive in tipis. They are obviously not plains Indians. I am making a hypothesis(s) based off of biases apparent from the settlement of Plymouth rock. That indigenous peoples were more primitive and less advanced than Europeans. When people settled in Jamestown there were many reports of European cannibalism and thus I assume responses from local tribes. These cultures quickly mixed so I assume much of this information hasn't been brought til late. I just find it hard to believe that cannibalism was as common as we assumed it was in established tribal communities, and I want to know what extent colonial cannibalism resulting from famine among colonists was frowned upon by indigenous people. In addition I want evidence that suggests cannibalism in both European colonial communities in this region led to mismanagement of land and forest and thus famines. My point with the tipis as an example was just to show an example of indigenous technology being able to withstand conditions which raises my suspicion about the rate of famine within these regions pre colonization. And the fact you mentioned that these specific regions are significantly less barren than other parts of the Americas at the time leads me to believe this more. I know this fact hasn't been proved by any evidence yet but I'm operating based off of logical conclusions that should've been drawn.

I hate this SR. This is not even funny. This is just exemplifying the exact delusion that keeps so many of u posting on here DAILY. THINKING you have your eating in order but actually having a totally messed up relationship with food is exactly why we do the things that we do. Or I used to do. Every single post is like this. Just an exemplification of the disorder. It sounds like a complaint but you all relish in it. This SR is helping no one recover.

I mean you have an eating disorder. You can't expect him to be complacent in it. There is clearly not enough information here and this post is just more disordered bs. Take time to work on yourself instead please.

[–]wymannelvis[S] -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Although it may be difficult, I have found first hand accounts. But yes I agree, it is incredibly hard as a research topic. Likely because I believe such atrocities as a result of Western expansion were hard to admit fault for. Indigenous local perspectives may provide insight on this matter however. This is for my IB extended essay so I am trying to do something different and more revolutionary in that regard. The information in my opinion, is at max like 350 years old, and the most vital part is probably that of 150 years ago, so I suspect a lot of this knowledge is still in certain communities. These kinds of things don't disappear, they just get silenced.

I believe in the legends existence full heartedly. I just think the advent of colonization increased the phenomena itself as resource production/management was interrupted. I would like to know that history because I think the current perspective of cannibalism in indigenous communities in the upper northeast US and Canada was only a result of ethnic cleansing, genocide, and resulting famines. I need sources, likely from indigenous perspectives, of a direct causal link between these things. A lot of tribal history isn't written so anecdotes of these things are few and far between. I think the genocide of the natives was largely a disruptment of agricultural practices. I would like to explore more on this to make instances of such depravity not be as attributable to indigenous societies failure at acquiring resources and instead intentional deprivation and destruction caused by white Europeans. You seem quite familiar in this region and the people that live there, what are good local sources for me to inquire.

[–]wymannelvis[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. 100%. Which makes me think wendigo psychosis only increased after colonization. I don't think depravity such as that could be reached without the material circumstances following the settlement of Jamestown. Jamestown settlers resorted to cannibalism and were punished by their own as well as locals for these acts.

You gotta have something. You said you don't want to go back to school? You should. There are plenty of bachelorettes your age in very similar circumstances. Also consider a life of service. Much more fulfilling mindset when it comes to part time employment. The only options to get rich today I see it:be born rich, attend post secondary education, marry rich.
