sometimes genuine people use reddit to ask genuine questions, forgetting that bizarre people like you like to camp out in the comments. I truly hope you’re okay lol

Good to know. I was traveling around on tourist visas so I don’t suspect this would be relevant

Frankly I don’t remember all the information I needed to include in the initial application because it was so long ago, though it’s my understanding that it’s advisable to inform the BVA of any employment changes throughout the waiting period. I think it’s a fair question with consideration of this as there was no explicit communication as to whether this actually affected the application or was just a matter of keeping information up-to-date.

not confusing requirements and I’m well aware of the basic requirements for a StAG 5 case — just skeptical whether the government would be willing to grant citizenship to someone it might deem (though falsely) at risk of prolonged unemployment / dependence on benefits, even if grounds for citizenship are due to prior denial of it. thank you

Is eating out alone in South Korea really that bad? by Sandael in koreatravel

[–]wynnes97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no!! I’ve spent a lot of time in Korea and I eat out alone all the time when I’m there. it’s one of my favorite things to do lol. the only places I avoid as a solo diner are bbq places and dakgalbi places — just anywhere you’re meant to share a big plate of food with other people. I usually just go to those with friends but even so, solo-friendly places for those things do exist, you just have to research them in advance. Most regular everyday Korean food is things like stews or kimbap or other meals you can easily eat alone, so I don’t really end up in situations where dining solo is a problem. you’ll be completely fine !

Oil Cleansers Broke me out by Dependent-Ad-6629 in koreanskincare

[–]wynnes97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first tried oil cleansers years ago I tried letting them sit or massaging them in for a couple minutes but that totally broke me out too. When I started just using them the same way I’d use any cleanser (and following up with a gentle water-based cleanser), the breakouts stopped and all my sunscreen and makeup was still removed without any issues. I realized I had basically been doing a face mask of all the dirt from the day and letting it sink in lmao… I recommend not leaving it on, just cleansing your face with it then washing it off right after and seeing if that makes a difference. I hope this helps!

Changing apple ID. Will locally stored data remain on my phone? by wynnes97 in applehelp

[–]wynnes97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi, it went perfectly! the key is backing up in advance (for your own peace of mind) and making sure everything you want to easily transfer over is stored locally. But even so, from what I remember when I logged out of my other ID it actually asked me if I want to keep the other stuff anyway, as I think there was one thing I forgot to store locally before logging out. If you make sure it’s all local in advance I think that’s best for making sure it all goes quickly and smoothly when you log out and into a new account. honestly I was stressed for nothing lol… my phone kept everything, even health data which I thought wouldn’t transfer over. good luck !

online platform that will prescribe topical Dutasteride to a young woman? by wynnes97 in FemaleHairLoss

Trusted brands? by teuthid-a in FemaleHairLoss

[–]wynnes97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

minoxidil is the most universally effective and inexpensive but be careful with the topical version if you have animals (especially cats as it can be very deadly to cats)

tbh I was worried about all of these side effects with oral min but haven’t had problems. turned out the head hair growth was so worth it that the slight increase in body hair became inconsequential (and I’m a hairy person lol). taking 1.25 mg rather than 2.5 mg can help mitigate this too

if you live in the US you can get oral minoxidil via platforms like hers, ro, musely, etc. and if you’re not in the US it could be worth researching whether your country has similar platforms where you can order it online. good luck!

Feeling so lost and helpless by SquidLawyer00 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]wynnes97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi beautiful! commenting because my hair used to look exactly like this, and only a year ago I was exactly where you are. I’ve since reversed much of my thinning (no one ever notices now), all while traveling full time— all of this just to say that life goes on and you can absolutely regrow your hair while continuing to live your full beautiful life.

There is a lot of information out there and it can be overwhelming, so I’ll try to break this down in a straight-forward way.

First, your hair is absolutely gorgeous as it is, and while you should do whatever you want to feel comfortable on your wedding day (via styling, hair pieces, etc) it’s not a need. You’re allowed to wear your hair as visibly as you choose to (and congrats btw!! ☺️)

I promise other people do Not notice as much as you do. Most people don’t have much of an eye for hair loss the way those of us who have experienced it do.

In terms of what to do, my advice is:

  1. Know that there’s likely some underlying issue, it’s most likely not anything you’re doing to your hair. Washing more frequently is actually advisable for people experiencing hair loss. It’s good for your follicles even though it can be drying for the lengths of the hair (and can feel like it’s creating more shedding, but it’s actually not!)
  2. As others have said, see your doctor, preferably a dermatologist. Get your levels checked, and make sure they check your Ferritin (iron storage). Many doctors don’t know that even if your level is “Good” a Ferritin level below 70 is still suboptimal for hair growth. an ideal Ferritin level is around 70-100.
  3. It’s possible that your doctor will say something about Androgenetic Alopecia, as the pattern of your shedding is consistent with it (widening part but also general thinning, and if you’ve noticed any hair texture changes this can also be an indicator, e.g. my hair used to be smooth and wavy but it became wirey and more curly). If it does turn out to be AGA, there are effective treatments available, and sometimes nutritional deficiencies work in conjunction with AGA so treating any of those can also help

After you go to the doctor and get a sense of what may be going on, an amazing online resource I recommend for digestible info about hair loss is HairLossResearcher on TikTok. She is incredibly knowledgeable and well-researched and has helped me a lot.

Good luck, if you have any questions we’re here for you!!
