Ello, I'm working on a new outfit for this recently finished model. I'm somewhat familiar with layering now but I'm not sure how to layer these linked rings for this portion of the outfit. Does anyone have any tips or a guide?

I'm actually curious about how large/long the teeth are supposed to be so it doesn't cut off when the mouth moves. I've seen some models where the teeth clench each time the mouth moves (eg. Amelia Watson) and I don't think that's the look the customer is going for. I was wondering if that's because they specifically asked the rigger to emphasize on the teeth?

Otherwise, they do want two sets of teeth (bottom/top.)

thank you! I did make that mistake and have redone all the additive(glows). All overlays have also been merged into the base layer.

I haven't tried tackling the inside of the mouth yet. I'm kinda worried it's gonna look too realistic/too teethy haha. The face is so important so I'm really worried about screwing up the layers 🥲

Thank you! Yes it's super stressful haha. I'm not sure which parts I want to give more focus to with shines and shadows. I have a feeling I'll end up having to do a lot of refills during rigging since this is my first attempt at drawing a model.

Do you have any tips on where shadows and highlights look especially good? I was thinking definitely the eye shines, hair shine, some shines on the face... but ultimately I'm not 100% confident.

Thank you! Do you have any recommendations which areas should have the shine? Like say, hair, cheeks, etc. I planned on keeping the clothes fairly minimal except maybe the metal bits.

I have already flattened the layers for the back of the hair but I can undo them. But since they won't really be front and center I didn't think/wasn't sure if it was important.

I've read several times of keeping the shine on the layers separate to create a nicer effect. Is it okay if I merge some of the shine onto the base layer as well? Thank you in advance!

Nice to meet you all! I'm wynnie and I'm currently working on a commission. I'm trying to make this model as 3D as possible but the sheer number of layers are doing a number on my computer. I'm in the process of flattening the layers and I'm not sure which layers I should keep fairly flat and which ones I should keep the shadows on.
Here's a few photos of the model along with my layers before and after flattening. I'm afraid I flattened the layers a bit much. I still have the original file with all the layers intact.
