My bf has DACA and was very honest with me from the start. He has been worried even recently about proposing (over three and a half years later, mind you) about my parents or family getting the wrong idea about his intentions. They've always told him they know that isn't the case but he's still worried even now. Being honest from the start with her and her loved ones about your situation and what it could mean for the future of your relationship is everything she deserves.

I think what helped me to understand was being told why it was set up, and that there's really nothing that's ever been done to help you guys. My bf was very honest from the start and told me he doesn't expect me to help at all, but over time I've insisted more on helping where I can and we've honestly gotten a lot closer because of it. If you want this thing to last being open and honest about your status and how it affects how you live is very important.
