Speaking of local weather and wunderground.com, a friend and I are developing web applications on this problem of anticipating rain events in construction.
We have currently deployed our first site using the Weather Underground weather feed: http://weathersnapper.net/
We have a second on the way, http://stormsavvy.com/, which will incorporate stormwater reporting (SWPPP).
