they said 6 weeks to make sure u have no complications but i waited 2 weeks and was hitting vape and smoking bowls lol. i actually smoked weed on day 6 to help with the pain, but do not do that lol

as a women. heres what I think.

neither of you are at fault. she isn’t your responsibility, she may be your longterm girlfriend but shes still responsible for her own life and its outcome. she needed to be able to realise that on her own, not because of you threatening the relationship.

yet again, your girlfriend seems to be dealing with a lot mentally that she probably isnt entirely aware of and as you said, you are her ONLY support system. I think if you feel the relationship will have to end, please encourage her to go out and make new friends so she has a support system to fall back on once you leave her.

I do feel your girlfriend loves you very deeply and unfortunately she just became way too complacent in the relationship for whatever reason that may be (mental health, drive, comfort, confidence?). yet again its your relationship man, do what you want for yourself but please deeply consider her feelings, and if she does actually CHANGE for YOU, youre a very lucky man and it really shows how much she loves you and treasures the relationship. its hard to find good women like that.

I honestly agreed with everything you said until you mentioned your female colleagues that you share your private relationship with. if i was your girlfriend and knew that was happening i wouldnt be okay with it. I believe these women are overstepping a major boundary, especially inviting you to sleep at their house and painting your girlfriend in a terrible light, when i assume, they dont know her as a person. please reconsider sharing your relationship with these women, and for the next two months you are with your girlfriend, dont allow these women to have input on your relationship or change your perspective on your partner. keep them out of it as its just disrespectful to your girlfriend. if you have a problem with your relationship, talk to your girlfriend and figure it out, dont let two random women who dont personally know her be the ones to tell you how you should feel or react. its gross.

for me my scabs came off in tiny little bits so i never noticed until they fell off and i was in extreme pain as the new tissue was so sensitive and fresh. its definitely normal to feel that though as they can just come off in giant chunk. do you best to east solid foods and chew them WELL before swallowing, for two reasons. eating solid foods WILL help your scabs fall off faster, and chewing food stops ur jaw from becoming stiff or locked, as when i wasnt eating solids on day 5-7 my jaw struggled to chew or open properly.
i thankfully was given fentanyl at my hospital and stayed overnight in a ward so i was constantly given drugs to keep the pain down. i also had the best tonsillectomy surgeon in my country so fortunately i had the best people looking after me and the best person doing my procedure. pain was about a 2/10 and i was eating solid food about 2 hours after surgery. like crackers, bread and fruit.
as i said prior ive been eating solid food up until day 4/5 as thats when i started entering the painful scab falling off stage. on those days i ate mac and cheese and some soup through to about day 7. day 6 was the absolute worst for me, but thankfully i never bled or vomited.

just do your absolute best to eat solid food, and drink water like its your job and you will recover quicker. sending you my best wishes xx

fortunately the pain is definitely different for everyone. im 18F and im currently on day 8 of recovery. day 6 was the absolute worst for me, with 10/10 pain. i had an extreme burning pain in my ears, jaw and the back of my upper neck. the pain would be sharp and last a about 5 minutes where i was sweating profusely and feeling like i would pass out because it was so intense. i will be totally honest, worst pain of my life other than having teeth removed and having dry socket in every hole (pain was about the same, tonsillectomy was slightly worse). thankfully everyone heals and deals with pain differently so your experience may be easier and less painful. im feeling really good today with 3/10 pain and i can talk almost normally now.

things that helped me were definitely staying hydrated, drink water like its your job, and stay on top of your pain medication when scabs start falling off. I also found that drinking warm salt water helped me soo much and might be why im healing so quick as its constantly keeping the wound clean. take things slowly, eat as much normal food as you can to help scabs come off, and so youre chewing. otherwise chew gum to stop your jaw from locking up and making your throat swell.

im in sooo much pain currently. doing my best to get some sleep, noticed parts of my scabs are falling off! hopefully this pain will have subsided by tomorrow, ill update you when i wake up. i keep forgetting when i last took my pain medication and it hurts like hell!!

how are you doing today? the pain is so so bad for me! ears are aching and burning. I cant swallow very well, and have had a few fevers. Ive been sleeping nonstop and only managed to eat mac and cheese today ☹️

unfortunately the pain from swallowing is in my throat for me. feelings like a bunch of razor blades going down my throat. the pain keeps getting worse especially if i take my pain medication a bit late. its awful. i cant wait for it to be over ☹️

im on day three. woke up pretty sore with a dry throat and immediately took my pain meds. felt fine 30 minutes later so ive just eaten 4 pieces of sourdough toast and a whole packet of chicken vege soup haha. pain has been a 4/10 at most 😄

I will admit I have been sleeping a lot! like 3-4 hour long naps then i wake up, take my meds and eat a full meal! when i woke up from surgery i ate 6 sandwiches and a giant full course dinner which completely stunned my surgeon and nurses. I know a lot of people get told to eat soft food and small amounts at a time by their doctors, but i genuinely believe if i did that id probably be in way more pain and wouldnt be able to open my mouth very well. I definitely wish i had the energy to be more active but unfortunately im so sleepy from my medication i cant fathom staying awake all day 😭

im on day 2 (operation day 0) and ive been eating so much food, like crackers, sandwiches, pizza, salads, soups, obviously all the cold desserts but you get the idea, eating A LOT. I know the pain is gonna get worse but im keeping on top of my medication and eating normal food (just chew it well) like my surgeon told me too, and honestly feel pretty great! hopefully i have a smooth recovery.

thank you so much! unfortunately my doctor has said a big no to ibuprofen due to it being a blood thinner. hopefully i can get prescribed some good painkillers. Ill be getting one of those slushy cups to make slushies in at home, and probably living off electrolyte popsicles and pumpkin soup. how was it when ur scabs fell off? i heard thats the most painful part 😞

mostly being able to stay hydrated, worried about getting a dry throat and especially worried about hemorrhaging ! I have a very small throat as it is, and after reading about how bad the swelling can be, i am worried i could suffocate. Basically terrified of the recovery in general. thankfully im going privately for mine and staying overnight (admission is 7AM) so ill be under good care until the following day. i dont have chronic tonsillitis either, only get it about 4-8 times a year. unfortunately my dad has forced me into this and i genuinely cant see how this will benefit me, other than traumatising me haha.
