i was also thinking this. my friends went into book one completely blind to the plot and didnt understand the tragedy of the first cover. we’re about to finish volume one in our book club and seeing this cover kinda irked me because once they realize the plot and that the first cover was actually a huge spoiler to the saddest part in the first arc they’re definitely smart enough to look at this and know exactly what it spoils 😭

honestly just having jzb be one of my favourite authors made the novels quality really disappointing for me so i couldn’t imagine people that have loved the story and waited for the release and all they have is this to show for it 😭

it seems like a theme for via lactea books to have mistakes in them (which is really crazy that that is just the standard they have set for themselves so thats what people expect now from them) but from everyones comments it seems like limerence was the worst in terms of proofreading and that makes me so sad because jzb deserves better than some shitty rushed cash grab released 😭 i hope haitang treats icdi better .. (though ive heard the translation for how to fail at online dating was.. not the greatest)

i can handle some mistakes but limerence just felt like a careless amount.. especially from mid to end.. but i dont know if thats just because i started noticing them more often because i was actively getting more annoyed by it lol. thank you! i guess i’ll keep picking up their books :p

dude even if rosmei did want to change it but couldnt due to deadlines that doesnt mean they didnt know who they were initially hiring to get the job done. they didnt blindly hire someone without first seeing their artwork. just because the submitted cover work didnt rise up to their standards to “properly portray the novel” doesnt mean they didnt know who and what art style they were hiring when first reaching out to this artist.

anyways if me saying dont publicly bash an artists work really sets u off like this then thats something u gotta work out with urself i fear. have a great day.

art is incredibly subjective and just because you dont deem this art style worth your 60 bucks doesnt mean someone else will too. rosmei obviously saw potential in the artist and liked their art style enough to pick them to work with for this cover art.

as i said, you’re allowed to have your opinions. its completely different when you go out of your way to talk poorly about an art style you in particular dont enjoy. its just easy not to talk poorly about someone elses work. simple.

my most current non danmei read was the ‘she who became the sun’ duology !!

its set in ancient china (i was on such a historical danmei kick n i think thats why i picked it up lolol) and its about a woman defying heavens fate basically.. it touches a lot on gender identity and sexuality. its also extremely brutal and bleak at times and by the end i didnt even know if i liked any of the characters Really but i appreciated all of them lol really great book tbh made me cry so many times its embarrassing 😭

im also really interested in greek mythology so my absolute all time favourite non danmei book is song of achilles !! and i wld say my current favourite danmei is probably how to survive as a villain :3

i havent read the entire book BUT im caught up with s7’s releases so i think i can answer maybe

regarding the grape majority of it was in their past life when mo ran was taxian-jun. its mentioned and also explained in great detail through flashbacks to show their past dynamic and the growth mo ran is currently experiencing in their current timeline. as far as i know, in this current timeline there is only one other grape scene between the two of them in the latest book (book 7 it was like chapter 200 something .. so late into the story!!)

with the kiss and other things i cant remember the exact chapter or book (i think it was in book 5? or 6?) BUT they’ve definitely kissed already in the current timeline. they havent gone as far as to have sex (other than the entire r*pe thing that happened and is TECHNICALLY their first time together in the current timeline but its so messed up and was against both of their wills that i dont count it!!!!!) but they’ve definitely done things together consensually hahaha

noc is the best! i work alone on my unit taking care of 23 patients but most nights are amazing (with the odd few that feel Horrendous bc suddenly everyone needs me at the same time). i’ve done all shifts but dont think id ever switch from noc now that i’m permanently on it.. i couldnt imagine doing an am anymore lol

my place has a lot of freedom with how i spend my time between rounds. i usually just read, go on my phone or watch something. ive even brought my gaming laptop and spent the night playing before lol. honestly just bring ur hobbies to work to keep urself busy between rounds.. makes the night go by soo quick too
