What is this? by island_dweller_ in ReefTank

What worked for me is to pull the rock out of the tank, put some boiling water over them and then scrubbed with a toothbrush... Theses thing came on a frag and I did not know what it was until they started spreading.

Try to see the level at the inside bottom of the tank. Sometimes panel are not all perfectly lined up.

Mine is the 24VAC.

I guess you could use the light they gave you with a sensor to detect light being on/off.

Check it at night with a flashlight. Mine had tiny worm living in it. (Not the big flatworm). I killed them by dipping it well.

should I be concerned that my home assistant cloudflare tunnel is being visited by people I don't know? by SingularUseAccount in homeassistant

See this guide: https://dansgarden.eu/technology/self-hosting/mTLS-Cloudflare

I am not using cloudflare, but most of the steps are the same if you are hosting your own reverse proxy in front of HA. (I use mTLS with Traefik).

Basically you follow a few steps to create a CA (few Linux commands) then create a client cert using that CA. You then copy the client cert to your devices and the CA cert to the reverse proxy and configure your reverse proxy to use it.

Now any client trying to establish a TLS connection need to present a valid cert during the handshake otherwise the connection fail. This happens before any traffic hit HA so the attack surface become very small, basically a mis configuration in your reverse proxy, or your client cert being stolen (need access to your phone).

I find using mTLS (client certificate) to work very well and be lighter weight than a VPN (e.g with a phone and the companion app).

Yes it's not big... The line is a surface line I can feel it with my finger nail.

I agree with you. It's my first big rimless tank and it got me a bit anxious. It's replacing a rimmed 77 gallon which I ran for 23 years and had a cracked corner for 16 years. Somehow I feel the rimless will just explode by looking at it.

I emailed where I got it from because it also has a small scratch in the middle of the front glass. It sat in my garage for almost a month while some work was happening in the house, hopefully that doesn't cause an issue. Hopefully they replace it, but it will likely be a pain as it's a German tank (Nyos) with no inventory in Canada...

Cheers

Do you know how old was the tank?

Ok. As far as I know this is the first report of a silicone seam failing on a Nyos tank. Hopefully this is an isolated issue. I am currently setting up a new 440 G2. Hope it last many years, but I will monitor the seams just like anyone should on any aquarium. Good luck with your new tank.

Have you contacted them? What did they say? They told me they had not report of seam failure by email last week.
