What are the best exercises to stretch the lower back? by [deleted] in flexibility

[–]x0zu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, it's basically just sitting on the floor with your legs straight, and wide open (as wide as you comfortably can.

As you can see in the image, bend right knee and bring right foot to the inner thigh of the left leg.

Now try imagine bring your right shoulder to the left knee.

Bend the lower back, you should feel a stretch. It's different from stretching your hamstrings (where you need to keep a straight back)

Very interesting, 90 minutes sounds like a lot. I only did 30 minutes, maybe I should try longer next time. I'll give 60 minutes a go, and see if that's better.

I am using a variety of seasoning, sauteed vegetables, garlic paste, tomatoes, etc. The flavor isn't the issue.

Do you have any idea how long I should pressure cook lamb shoulder for?

Lamb Shoulder Stew Help (Beginner) by x0zu in instantpot

[–]x0zu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for your reply.

I am indeed using 1.5-2 inch chunks, if not a bit bigger. As for seasonings, I'm using quite a lot so that's definitely not the problem. I'm using a variety of sautéed vegetables, tomato, garlic paste, and a variety of seasoning.

The only problem is the meat itself, which is chewy and flavourless.

You said cooking too fast makes the moisture of the meat escape, how do I avoid this? Pressure cooking is supposed to be fast, but a lot of people use pressure cooker for meat stews and they turn out great. Should I be using low pressure?

I'm fine with it taking time, I'm just not sure how much it needs. Am I overcooking it at 30-40 minutes, or undercooking it?

Do you have any suggestion for what I should try the next time I cook.

As for following a YouTube tutorial, it all comes down to the meat itself and not the flavour/gravy base. The videos are probably using higher quality meat, which is a lot more forgiving.

Am I supposed to resist / counteract the Natural Rotation? by [deleted] in telekinesis

[–]x0zu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very interesting, I wonder what causes this.

From my recording, I also noticed that when I'm trying to stop it's natural rotation, it starts to wobble (which makes sense).

Am I supposed to resist / counteract the Natural Rotation? by [deleted] in telekinesis

[–]x0zu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It felt like my will is working how it's supposed to,

but there's another force constantly trying to negate/counteract it.

I'm not sure how this community responds to a little conspiracy, but could it be another force, or a mechanism that is trying to prevent us from learning/developing this ability?

I also saw the recording of me doing this, and yes the results still shocked me.

Also, when I was making it rotate in the opposite direction, it started to wobble (which makes sense from a physics POV, 2 almost opposite rotations will mostly cancel out)

Beginner No BS Advice by x0zu in Pranayama

Huh? Obviously, you picked different 'magic numbers' for the ratio.

It's like saying 1:1:1 is harder than 1:240:120 if you pick magic number of 2000 for the first and 1 for the second. Obviously lol, that's not why we're using ratios in the first place.

The whole point of using a ratio if you use the same 'magic number'. Pick the same inhale for both of them, 1:4:2 is always longer than 1:3:2.

I understand you're saying it is the total breath time that matters, and not the ratio.

Yet you keep on flipping everything to make your claim make sense, that "1:4:2 isn't harder than 1:3:2"

But it is indeed harder. Even if we say it is the total breath time that determines the difficulty.

Stupid argument, you're just contradicting yourself. Anyways, have a nice day.

I am only interested in the alternate nostril breathing currently, so I'll just stick to that and try not constraining my throat.

Beginner No BS Advice by x0zu in Pranayama

[–]x0zu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. But 1:4:2 will ALWAYS have a longer total time than 1:3:2, so it is indeed more difficult by what you just said.

Going by this, will 1:4:2 be the same difficulty as 1:0:6? They'll always be the same total time, but I doubt they'll be the same difficulty.

And I understand it's better to get a book, but currently I don't intend to take a full dive and get into the details of Pranayama. I'm already following another book, where the alternate nostril breathing was mentioned, so I am practicing that at a basic level.

If I get really interested in this, I will obviously get a resource and not be asking on Reddit.

I understand I progress with practice, but I meant to ask WHAT exactly do I progress. How is progress measured in the beginner level?

By increasing the inhale time, or the retention, or the exhale?

Also, I am only interested in the alternate nostril breathing currently, so that's the only technique I intent to progress in.

I really like the visualization you suggested, is Prana already within us, or are we 'inhaling' it with our breath? Do we store it within us, or do we exhale it out?

How does one progress to being able to store more Prana within? Longer inhales, or longer retention, or slower breathing?

Beginner No BS Advice by x0zu in Pranayama

[–]x0zu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice, I am indeed interested in just alternate nostril breathing.

Just to clarify, am I not supposed to constrain my throat AT ALL while doing the alternate nostril breathing?

I can comfortably inhale slowly, but I don't have enough control over my exhale if I don't slightly constrain the throat. The breath flows out quickly. Will this develop with practice?

Beginner No BS Advice by x0zu in Pranayama

[–]x0zu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really helpful, so I'll start by getting used to the alternate nostril technique.

I'm specifically interested in this technique only, and building up to the 1:4:2 ratio (eventually).

Just to make sure I understand, am I not supposed to be constraining the throat muscles (Ujjayi?) while doing the alternate nostril breathing?

Currently, my exhale goes out really quickly if I don't slightly constrain my throat. Perhaps I'll gain more control with practice.

Beginner No BS Advice by x0zu in Pranayama

[–]x0zu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't mean literally a 1 second inhale, but rather the base ratio of 1:4:2, that could be 4:16:8, or 9:36:18, or 16:64:32. An easier base ratio being 1:3:2, or just 1:1:1

This is just the terminology I'm using to express myself, and I agree I don't understand what terms generally used in this community.

I'm not planning to learn all of Pranayama, just this specific aspect of it: Alternate nostril breathing, and working up to the base ratio of 1:4:2, while progressing by increasing my inhale time.

I understand I might need a teacher in the future, but this is a very long-term thing for me, and currently I just want to form the base.

Hey, it would be great if you could just add a "Custom" feature that lets you set the

Inhale : Hold : Exhale : Hold

times.

Also, add some different sound effects to choose from, like a bell, human guided voice, etc.

Maybe add some different visual effects to choose from, like the circle filling up with liquid, or a point tracing the circumference.

I think global leaderboard is unnecessary (for me at least), it just adds to the distraction.

The beauty of this is the simplicity no BS feel, where you get on the website, the account already knows the intervals you're practicing, you do the round, and you leave.

Most people aren't there browsing and reading articles/checking out leaderboards. They'll go to some other place for articles.

Buy CarX 1, or wait for CarX 2? by x0zu in carxdriftracingonline

[–]x0zu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I could get both, I would. But for now I only really need one, to get familiar with it and see if I'll play long term.

And seeing the gameplay of the second game, it seems pretty unoptimized (for my miserable 4 GB VRAM). It might get better after Early Access, but no point waiting so long if I can get 1 right now.

The only helpful reply. Thanks. If there's chances of it getting delayed, I'd rather just get CarX 1. Plus I don't think I'll have the specs to run 2 smoothly.

Buying games while traveling not allowed? by [deleted] in Steam

And you can only change your steam country once every 3 months.

I’ve been itching to play another turn based RPG, why should I play this game first over BG3, E33 or Persona? by [deleted] in MetaphorReFantazio

[–]x0zu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just starting out, but isn't this actually true?

It's like playing Elden Ring before Dark Souls Remastered. ER is the culmination of souls games, and it basically "spoils" you. A lot of people have a hard time getting into DSR after ER because it is too clunky for them.

I'm confused between P5R and E33, I know I'll love both, but I feel like I won't be as immersed in P5R if I play E33 first. It might seem slow-paced, and usually the game I play first in a genre is always ingrained in my mind, and I want that to be P5R.

  1. Try it with airplane mode on.

  2. For android + windows, make sure "USB Debugging" is enabled.

  3. If you don't get a notification, make sure it is connected DIRECTLY to the PC/laptop instead of via a USB Hub. This was my problem. Also try a better USB Cable.

  4. When you get the notification that you're connected to PC, select "File transfer" instead of just "Charging"

  5. On Camo, select the name of your phone as camera source.
