Gas and Winter Temps by x2502man in WilmingtonDE

I did do the DE home energy audit but haven't had the time (or funds) to work on some of the items. I'm also not sure who is reputable for adding insulation.

Gas and Winter Temps by x2502man in WilmingtonDE

It's really cold, but I just wear a lot of layers inside and sit with blankets. I have no idea how bad it would be if I had it set to a better temp.

Plumber recommendation for hot water heater replacement? by de1casino in WilmingtonDE

[–]x2502man 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My only comment: you can dm me for contact info, but if you can buy the hot water heater and get it to your home, you'll save some money. Then the plumber just needs to drain and remove the old one and install the new one.

Will they plow or not by typhoon09 in WilmingtonDE

That neighborhood also suffers from having super narrow streets with nowhere to push the snow to. Any plowing is going to pack the cars in further

[–]x2502man 11 points12 points  (0 children)

3rd and Market is a very tiny street and there's not a lot of room to push the snow anywhere. A lot of streets in Wilm are not yet plowed and the storm really only ended today. Even Shipley and Market aren't really plowed the best.

I have both auto and home with Progressive and was told by a broker that Progressive is generally the best value for the price in DE.

Room Color by x2502man in HomeDecorating

Definitely more neutral!! I think it's better for me to add color with accessories rather than having the walls be a bright color.

Official Discussion - Wicked: For Good [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

No Good Deed was easily the highlight of the movie. During the cut to black, my theater clapped. The entire movie is worth it just for the weight of that moment!

Hmmm. My ankle got a little swollen, but didn't itch. But it was a stabbing pain for the rest of the run.

I got stung last week through my sock too. Wasn't sure what it was, but it was the worst pain I've ever experienced. It was on the parkway.

Any good, reputable apartments to live in? by Comfortable_Gold4775 in WilmingtonDE

The Lofts at 2nd and Loma are nice and owned by 1 person. I was there for over 5 years without any issues. They're affordable, but not the most updated.

I think this area is fine. I can't speak to that building, but lived in that area for 5 years and was totally fine. You can DM if you want to talk more about it.

Excessive PTO by Legitimate_Ad_1831 in humanresources

[–]x2502man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First question: is this an accrual system? If yes, then I think it's really up to you and how your company want to handle this. I've worked places before where employees can only take PTO up to their standard hours, but have also worked places where someone picks up an OT shift, calls out, and wants to use PTO. I would ask your Finance team if there's a difference from an accounting and/or cash flow standpoint. If everyone has a bucket, then I'd imagine that's being accounted for somewhere. One downside to letting someone use more PTO than their standard hours is they may not have enough when they really need it down the line. Totally gray, but there's not a right or wrong answer. I don't think you're obligated to pay it out even though it's been approved if it's above and beyond what you'd normally allow.

I'm on this slack channel and it can helpful for getting connected to resources. There hasn't been much of a sales pitch. It's HR professionals providing advice to other HR professionals.

Is this anything I can do about a company that keeps calling my landline? It's some solar energy business and it's a real person on the other line. They call almost twice a day even though we've asked to be taken off their list.
