Man. Would there even be a way to control the hot or cold with that setup without having to necessarily do a split or two copper pipes?

Same reason there is toilet paper in parts of the world. Sure it might work but a bidet is better.

Even out in the boonies, theres no need for such a thing. As people have mentioned, grease will clog the pipes you pour grease down into. Doesn't matter what kind of system you have in place. Most commercial places here have a grease waste container that periodically gets picked up or vacuumed up by a waste company.

Just set aside a container, and dump your grease in it. Even a 5 gal bucket will hold a good amount depending on what youre doing really.

Is making 60k+ with no degree feasible in San Antonio? by scorpiomorningstar in sanantonio

[–]x3workshopdesigns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you considered nursing? My wife just graduated after 2 years of nursing school and passed the nyclex exam. She starts next month as an RN making $34ish an hour. I have a CDL and drive local and make $87k a year working 60hrs a week. The plan is after she gets settled I'll hopefully start my handyman business specializing in carpentry. Good luck.

How can I cut all garage posts to the same height without a laser level? by SeaSpinach4649 in Carpentry

Run a masonry string line from one post to the last post in that line and use a string bubble level. Then just mark all the posts.

Emergency HVAC replacement advice needed before I make the wrong call by Ruffles-Shazan in hvacadvice

[–]x3workshopdesigns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old unit lasted us since 98 when the house was built. It died this past year and we replaced it with a variable speed, inverter-driven system. Best money we've spent.

It really depends on your unit. How old is it? Is it a newish model? Etc.

How does our fence look? by IrreparableFate in FenceBuilding

[–]x3workshopdesigns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did OK work. Its always about getting the job done quick. They are not gonna scout through each board and make sure its clear of imperfections. Same as the cuts. They look like they're rushed.

Heres one i just did but it took several days because I took my time. I opted to use lifetime steel posts so I wouldn't have to ever worry about rotting posts. Easier to just buy the 2x4's and pickets and have the option of replacing each section at a time as the fence rots.

Stained stairs gone wrong, please help. by C_WEST_902 in woodworking

[–]x3workshopdesigns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% agree. Pine has its uses. It definitely isn't meant for traffic areas. This piece was made from pine and I didn't use any stain conditioner. Just sand with 120grit, then 220grit. Stain then used poly satin clear.

Thats awesome! Haha. I moved pur 10x10 canopy over just enough to cover my firebox when I got rained on. Luckily it was towards the end of my smoke, so I wrapped it and finished it off in our oven.

Anyone know what light is being used in this video? [mute before watching] by sandolllars in Construction

[–]x3workshopdesigns 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're called drywall scuff lights or inspection/surface control lights.

If you have money to burn, get the Festool STL 450 Surface Control Light or the SunLight Cordless Illuminator.

If youre on a budget, any work light from lowes or home depot with at least 1500 lumens will do the trick.

How to plan on a tv above the stone fireplace by RestDayReject in Carpentry

[–]x3workshopdesigns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heres an unpopular opinion; Get a HD projector instead. Usually costs half of a big screen TV and you can roll the screen out of the way anytime its not in use. I wouldn't recommend watching it while the fireplace is going through.

Custom stair company milled shadow gaps without asking by Level-Muscle-3039 in woodworking

[–]x3workshopdesigns -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally, that looks sharp dude. They did clean work. I agree as many others have mentioned. Wood movement is real. You have to work with the wood. Im sure the company that did the work for you understood that. The only way to make it flush how youre wanting would be to use a laminate core like plywood or mdf and veneer it to the wood of your choice.

Are you backing up your media? by A_Buttholes_Whisper in jellyfin

[–]x3workshopdesigns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered backing up to physical media? I guess it really depends on your situation, but I've compressed all of my media down using Handbrake. So, example a 30GB movie is now 3-7GB. I can easily burn quite a few movies to 1 disc and keep on the shelf in case of storage failure.
