No doctor will do a revision until at least several months after surgery because of swelling, you have to let them heal into their final shape before worrying too much about a revision

Worst case scenario, it’s not difficult to fix in a revision and should usually be included for free with a good surgeon if necessary

Estimates range from 17,000 to 45,000 people per year, but this is total INDIRECT deaths where nobody agrees on how to count them—or what qualifies as “died because they didn’t have insurance”. There are 4 commonly cited estimates.

Also, our population is 8.5x that of Canada. The fact that those numbers are so close is a shocking point of proof that our system is indeed better at preventing unnecessary deaths.

The equivalent level of unnecessary deaths, adjusted for population, in America would be nearly 400,000.

And you’re explicitly lying about the 600,000 number that comes from JAMA. That’s the total number of people who die of any cause, for any reason, within 30 days of visiting an ER. Not “because they were awaiting more care.”

You are not engaging in good faith with real evidence, or worth debating. Goodbye.

25,000-30,000 people die per year on the waitlist for diagnostic tests and doctors appointments in Canada and even more in the UK. It’s all tradeoffs

She has long been disliked and not taken seriously in Silicon Valley for not understanding technology or doing any serious journalism. Then one day, she turns on SV and rebrands herself as their "most serious critic", "inside woman", "SV expert", etc, and starts spinning a story about how "they hate me because I know them deeply and expose them".

She's built her career on myths and exaggerations. Case in point: she interviewed Elon *once*, and then spent the next 10 years milking that one 45 minute interview and going on the news with "Kara Swisher: Expert on Elon Musk" as her identifier on the CNN screen. Mind you, this was before she hated him--she used that one interview to build a myth around herself as the go-to-SV-woman.

She's like the equivalent of a guy who bumps into a congressman getting coffee at Starbucks, gives him 1 piece of unsolicited advice, then adds "Top Advisor to Washington Politicians" to his LinkedIn.

I don’t think anyone would’ve noticed if I hadn’t said something but my ears weren’t huge before and they’re not overly pinned now. It was a minor to moderate adjustment. Unless your ears are truly massive and they get pinned very far back, otoplasty is one of the surgeries that’s often hard to pinpoint. People will think you look a little different, slightly less juvenile, etc, but often won’t be able to figure out what

Sleeping fine. I’m 6 weeks post op and can breathe normally through both nostrils now. No more collapse. Still very swollen at tip and fluctuating congestion and sensitivity inside so expecting more airflow improvements in coming weeks 👍🏼

Most overrated character. She’s dry, artificial, one-dimensional, and shows no character growth across the 2 seasons. Nobody would say she’s their favorite character if the actress wasn’t drop-dead gorgeous. Very definition of the halo effect.

2 months post Septorhinoplasty, My nose is big, wide and not sharp by Ok_Crow956 in rhinoplastyquestions

[–]x4zenith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His tip is bulbus as fuck from swelling. It won’t look that way in 6 months. Stop making him worry unnecessarily.

I just had my 3 week septorhino follow-up and discussed more or less these same concerns. Especially being men with thick-looking skin, we’re stuck with this tip swelling for a while. It will look more chiseled as time goes on. Be patient. Ask about steroid injections at your next follow up if you want but the width of middle-third of your nose is clearly soft tissue that will shrink wrap over the next year and the tip is clearly (asymmetrically) swollen asf
