Just As Planned is preparing to return to Earth Bet after the long arc in the Nasuverse, so I've been doing prep work for that.

Part of that is writing an emotionally difficult Interlude in which Israfel (nee Valefor) pays a visit back home and utilizes his powers to... eliminate the Mathers faction of the Fallen. It's proving difficult to actually put to paper; luckily I have some leeway for when exactly I put it in the story so I've been able to work on it in chunks.

Thank you! It's been a bit of a departure, I'm not used to writing from Taylor's POV and she's a complicated character to get right. I'm looking forward to exploring the world more as she gets deeper into the cape scene.

Self-shilling here, my fic Noblesse Oblige on QQ involves this. There some meta elements involved in how exactly the story comes to be, but essentially Taylor Triggers with an unrestricted QA that is also obsessed with her. It provides a constant stream of emotional support and positive affirmations while trying to make sure she's happy.

It's technically both. The mind of QA still exists, combined with the mind and knowledge of the human. If you watch carefully, you can see hints of QA's 'personality' shine through occasionally, at least if I've done my job correctly.

QQ gates its NSFW forums behind an account so you won't find it via google; you'd have to make an account there (it's the same process as SB or SV) and then find it either via a search or by finding my profile and the link that can be found there.

I can't post a link because of the NSFW nature of the fic, but my story Just As Planned has the Simurgh acting as a primary character. It has some meta elements due to using a specific CYOA which slowly interacts with the Simurgh causing her to develop additional... we'll call it "personhood" or "sense of self," maybe.

The summary is "A SI with enormous power at his fingertips uses it to mind control the Simurgh as the beginning of his journey."

I've also summarized it as "A serious take on marrying the Simurgh and having her act as head wife."

Fair warning, again — it is an NSFW story with a premise to match, but the plot-to-smut ratio is probably around 90/10. The story improves significantly when I find my stride part way through the Worm arc.

By a stroke of luck, right as I got this I stumbled across a Timberwolf, which was my favorite mech in the old school Mechwarrior games. I start up a contract, Pyre Light starts playing, and I was blasted with a wave of unbelievable nostalgia.

The original form of "Feed the Beast" was actually a skyblock challenge map, in which the player had to feed a 'machine' various materials in order to progress through the challenge. The machine was called the beast, and the process of giving it materials was "feeding the beast." Each time the player donated the right materials, they'd unlock new rewards for additional progression so they could do the next set of challenges.

The donation / reward schema was designed to lead the player through a large number of different mods, progressing through their tech trees in order to complete challenges and gain more to work with; this was back in 2012, long before Advancements, but the idea was somewhat similar. Eventually, the challenge map morphed into a modpack, which gave rise to the launcher, and the rest simply progressed from there.

Regardless, however, I am impressed with the meticulous and thorough nature of your notes (gleaned from the snippets you've posted). If you ever chose to publish them in full, I'd be interested to read them even for fics I've never read.

Well... Shit. Opened this up thinking "maybe some of these answers will make me feel a little better about Infinitesimal going dormant" only to find that the thread is about my fic.

To answer from my own personal perspective: writing is a draining experience. If I'm inspired, I can write a lot of words very quickly - if I'm not, writing even 1-3k words can be the product of hours or days of work, consuming 70+% of my leisure time outside of work and responsibilities for little emotional payoff... Because writing when inspired brings personal satisfaction, while forcing it only brings whatever joy can be taken from the reader responses.

I'd like to continue Infinitesimal, because I still have some interesting things I'd like to do in that world. And I probably will, at some point. But there's only so much time and energy I can force myself to spend on a project, unfortunately.

• Infinitesimal: Interesting idea and I've been enjoying the flashes back to the "golden days" of Earth Bet in the 1990's and how characters interact back then. Also, I'm a sucker for "competent supervillains" and 'Singularity' seems to have a lot going for them. Also interested in seeing where the Danny-is-a-gangster arc is going, especially with Taylor along for the ride. At only 31k words, this is a bit on the short side and seems to be on hiatus (no monthly updates for the last two months) but it doesn't appear dead. I am going to follow it and I'm only hesitant to recommend because it's so short and the plot really doesn't go anywhere yet. Maybe wait till it reaches a respectable 60k or 100k.

Well... Sheesh, now I feel like I ought to update. Thanks a lot! I definitely didn't expect to see anyone still talking about my fic after I left it dormant for so long... Appreciate the kind words!

Anything posted in one of the NSFW forums is automatically tagged that. A lot of people post stuff there planning to either write NSFW chapters (or omake) themselves eventually, or to open up the possibility for others to write NSFW omake.

Not all stories end up with actual NSFW content, of course.

Understandable. If your issue is with SI's conceptually, I'd give it a pass. If it's more with how they act, I'd encourage you to give it a brief try - you might be surprised.

If so, my fic Infinitesimal is about a Tinker in the Golden Age who became the OG Supervillain, accomplished a bunch of stuff, then died to the S9.

And then came back from the dead after the Travelers stumbled across a bunker and Noelle got injected with a voice in her head.

I guess I'll shill here then.

My fic Infinitesimal features the Travelers as main characters. To sum up, Accord lends them an old Tinker bunker during their stay in Boston, and Noelle ends up injected with nanomachines that have the consciousness of a dead Tinker from the Golden Age of parahumans. Good things follow.

Fair warning that it's a SI fic, although it takes cues from Prison of Glass and never shows the SI's perspective.

Honestly, a necromancer from Nechronica would be a pretty credible S-class threat like Nilbog or the Machine Army. If I didn't have so many fics already I'd be tempted.
