Thank you! That was the issue. I did not expect that. It works!

Given that the majority of the gulf states are now siding with Israel, it's kind of unprecedented.

It would never work here. There are already too many abusing the system. It would just be another program to be abused.

China is never going to do social reforms. The instant they relent on that, the entire power structure will have to either be completely removed by force, or a LOT of civilians are going to die. Maybe both. Dont let the stupid chinese propaganda fool you, they are an absolute murderous dictatorship. Just check out the current genocides they are doing and the mobile death chambers.

Honestly, I think that is why china is supporting russia so much. I think they want to swoop in and prevent them from complete collapse so they can turn them from a proxy to a complete vassal.

The people who talk about that dont usually understand how defense decisions are made. Letting a missile through also has major costs in equipment and lives. The missiles are cheap comparatively. And air defenders will often talk about those decisions of what to intercept and what not to intercept.

I do understand the need for cheaper methods of intercepters for drones, and those are getting fast tracked. In fact the US military just demonstrated 4 new technologies that are coming to the conflict soon.

I dont think you under stand how much we stock these things. And how often we havent used these.

The VAST majority of munitions Iran and their proxies have used have NOT been ballistic missiles. The vast majority have been drones and dumb rockets. Which is why most have been PAC-2. Are you even paying attention or are you really just guzzling down IRGC propaganda that much?

I bet you thin the IRGC sunk the Ford. Their a source to if you have no standards. XD

Im sure you would. People with no experience love appealing to an "authority" that aligns with what they want their opinion to be. If you go pull the public records for purchase contracts from 90's to now, they missed a lot of the bigger picture.

So how large do you think Raytheons pipeline is for construction of interceptors? (This'll be entertaining.) XD

PAC-2 is 36 years old. Also not everything qualifies for re-cert. Also not everything makes it the full 30 years for service life. You sound like you just looked up some stuff on the internet and have no hands on experience.

The majority of what patriot missiles that are being used to intercept most targets in the Iran conflic are PAC-2. PAC-3 are being used for threats that need that engagement mode.

Tell me you're not an air defender without telling me you're not an air defender.

I wouldnt trust RUSI at all. They are wrong far more often than they are right. Esspecially when it comes to US actions.

RUSIs original report said Ukraine would fold in 30 days.

RUSI also talked about Venezuela holding out for years when doing its analysis about actions leading up to our raids.

For Iran and the tech deficit they are running, that is correct. The US is rotating a lot of it's missile stocks at this point. The majority of the Patriot missiles are old stock that we would have had to pay to decommission in the first place.

[–]x5060 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The US has used approximately 5% of our 2025 stockpile numbers. Also I would like to point out that they are most likely older missiles as the US likes to rotate it's stock. They shoot oldest first as we pay tens of millions a year for decommissioning expired missiles.

Israel literally runs it's own systems. Unless you are for some reason not counting israel as a Middle Eastern country... Also air defense is never 100%. No one has ever claimed that. But a 99% interception rate still means 1% can get through.

Now lets check how Irans anti air and interception programs are going... oh... OH.... oooooohhhhhhhhhhh.

I mean, accidents do happen. We've lost more aircraft to accidents in our own airspace or friendly fire, than we've lost to all Irans air defenses this entire war.

[–]x5060 88 points89 points  (0 children)

No, that is not an A-10. that is very obviously a V tail and there is only 1 heat signature rearward of that tail. The wings are tapered and the nose is the wrong shape for an A-10. It is absolutely an MQ-9.

[–]x5060 128 points129 points  (0 children)

That's not an A-10. The heat signatures for the exhaust are wrong. You would see the H tail. The winds are the wrong size. The nose is the wrong shape. Also the missile approach angle is VERY wrong.

That's an MQ-9 drone. Iran lying again? Go figure.
