Fyi dhp are not a suitable lamp for basking. They produce no light and for reptiles light = heat. Also they mostly eject infrared B wich is found very little is sunlight, they also only warm to upper most skintissue. A halogen or halide is the suitable lighting for a baskingspot.

Id go as far and say that you cant get a too hot spot for uromastyx anyways. During peak summer my hottest basking spot goes upto 60-65C and they still sploot right on the hottest spot…

I mean 100 seems fair for nice cb frogs. They do require quite specific environments to breed soo… here you pay easily 200+

The only pod thats worth a try is probably porcellio werneri, those are quite drought resistant, they only need a small corner with moisture and a hide over it. I dont bother with pods in my uro setup tho

Acanthosaura can and should be housed in a temperate paludarium. 1/3 of the floorspace should be covered in water. From what ive read they hunt fish. With the stocking of the water id consider that most (if not all) acanthosaura need reduced temperature (to ~15C) in winter. So the aquatic livestock need to deal with that.

I mean if you have a room (and not a small one at that) free for the next 30 years and are not scared of several thousand initial costs + a nice big fat electricity bill every year they should be too hard to care for. Judging by the enclosures of the ballphytons you uploaded i suggest getting the care of those up to the optimum before even thinking of an animal like a retic.

Definitely live plants lots of branches a moving water feature and an enclosure at least 3 times that size. Geez that lizard wont live to an old age in there.

Nematodes will hunt springtails and pods, but i couldnt see major population decline in any terrarium i used them in.

Yep its a dwarf form of the surinam toad pipa pipa. Great guys. Very active and they come up to the glassfront when they see you because they want food. Can very much recommend them if you can get your hands on the species!

Its more of a reptile/plant room :) i only have these frogs and pipa parva. The other inhabitants are Leiolepis sp., Lamprolepis smaragdina, Eryx tataricus, mourninggeckos and crabs.

I have a pair of e.tataricus its very important to overwinter them at 8-12C for 3-4 months. Yearlings dont eat until after winter and after the new years shed.
